Deontay Anderson DB transfer from Ole Miss

This is not about a coach lying about just anything or promising just anything, this is about a coach and an athletic director about the penalties the school faced for NCAA infractions. At worst this is a very limited exception.

I 100% agree with you and, logically, it should be a very limited exception. But you and I both know it won’t be. Disgruntled kids will latch on to this to create endless reasons they should get waivers. Not that the NCAA has to, or even should grant them. But they will be fielding waiver requests by the truckload and I can’t say I blame them for fearing that.

If they rule in favor of the kids on this one, I think their final findings should very clearly state how limited the exception is here.

yep

This news is huge if true. I don’t see how the NCAA could grant immediate eligibility for Patterson without also granting it for Anderson and the other players. And I believe the attorney representing Patterson is also representing Anderson.

I believe the amendment has to do with their grades and academic performance. I have my fingers crossed that Deontay Anderson is also granted a waiver.

Not that logic means anything to the NCAA but Anderson should be good to go too.

Glad he was still in the waiver business when Deontay Anderson needed him.

Rereading this thread:
How did I not know Cadillac Anderson is his uncle?

Good find
didn’t know that either.

Cadillac was my favorite player when I first started going to games (I didn’t get to go to Phi Slama Jama games).

And Gleson Sprewell’s uncle is Latrell. That they are both safties is kind of freaky.

Interesting

For what it is worth, he graduated from University of Arkansas Law School, and scored the highest that year on the Bar Exam.
Friend or Foe, that is noteworthy

When you can’t beat them buy them out. The ncaa works for the cartel.
Message from the cartel to the ncaa:
Why do we pay you all this money for? Get him right now!!!
