D'Eriq King

So understated and humble. CMA is not advertising for him, maybe we benefit from King not being recognized as well as Ward was. I know King deserves far, far more recognition for what he does. He won’t be a secret next year. Nor will our receivers.

I just noticed on that play, King did one of those things I don’t get and sometimes goes badly. He dropped the ball as he was crossing the goal line. I really don’t get the point of doing that. His backfoot hasn’t even crossed the goal line and you can see the ball halfway to the ground. I hope Applewhite noticed that and shows King a compilation of early drops. “You don’t want to be those guys do you?”

Don’t rush this recognition thing. I was going to say let’s continue to fly under the radar but the cat is out of the bag. I wanted us to duplicate 2015 but if we beat OU next year, the recognition and awards will start coming our players way.

No you won’t from this guy, I said the same thing when Ward was still here and I witness King throwing the ball freshman year on an option play…I will say it again…King is better than Ward Jr…and Ward Jr was great!

Friends you forget one fact that physically changed Greg. He suffered from a shoulder injury that would have sidelined many QB’s. He choose to play with pain. judas knew that Greg was his golden ticket and encouraged him to play hurt. No one will know how good Greg could have been. The one thing that we all know is that he sacrificed his future to play for us. Just for that reason Greg will be forever a U of H icon for me.
D’Eriq is opening some eyes at all levels. His accuracy on deep throws is truly outstanding. Only the future will tell us if he is given a chance at the highest level. I sure hope so.

The Alabama guy has earned it. If King gets to go his Senior year I will be happy. Whatever happened to using Ed on Offense to boost his Heisman chances?

Wrote this before Saturday. Will be writing an addendum about the whirlwind of a game vs USF tonight.

Texas Tech loss killed his chances thanks to coach No D…

tua hasnt played anyone great…a&m is the only above .500 team theyve played, while being surrounded byt he deepest roster in college football

imo this lsu game will define his heisman campaign…
selfishly i hope he throws 3 picks vs lsu, and king has another 5+td game…that will really change things up IMO

Rather him get it next year. Him even being in the conversation will get us more attention which helps for rankings

Alabama has 4 games to play, let see what happen.

No doubt Tua gets a lot of help. If he wins, he is a deserving candidate IMO. I was just irritated D’eriq was not getting much if any attention. Seems to have changed with going off on National local TV Saturday.

I don’t know… If Tua was not behind center, what would Alabama’s record be?

I feel like if your team is undefeated without you, you probably shouldn’t be the front-running Heisman contender.

Jalen Hurts got them to the playoffs

I have several TCU alums in my office and I make it a point each week to thank them for telling DK he couldn’t play QB for them.

As great as the TD run was, here’s the play where he hurdled the defender:
