That’s about how I felt as well. Don’t want to see King go down with an injury at this point. Glad we have someone like Dormady to back him up, but I’d rather he take that redshirt year instead of seeing him on the field with the game on the line.
it’s a chance you gotta take because 5’10 190 sounds like a truck stick waiting to happen. lol No one will forgive him for getting trucked by a QB.
That’s weak! Every defensive player dreams of having an opportunity to light up a QB. I don’t think any of them dream of diving low hoping to trip him up. But to each his own, I guess.
Fantastic. The Toads have one of the more baselessly arrogant fanbases around.
True but as fast as King was moving and being that low to the ground and that weight you have to at least consider it. His momentum stopped right as King was picking up speed. lol Seems like a freight train situation!
Not sure I want to risk DK getting his bell rung, but can you imagine how TDECU would have exploded if DK had trucked that dude Kenneth Farrow style? Oh man…
He is a good passer and a great runner. He has another year to develop.
There are plenty of kids to go around and only so many scholarships. I don’t think our presence in a better conference or the P5 would change things for anyone dramatically except us and then only marginally.
Wednesday’s honor was the fourth of the week for King who has also been named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Offensive Player of the Week, The American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week.
# Houston football: Throw Cougars QB D’Eriq King into the Heisman Trophy race
King’s numbers compare favorably to the consensus top two players in the Heisman race: Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray. In fact, King leads the trio in passing yards and total touchdowns, all while leading a Group of Five team to an AP Top 25 ranking.
Holy smokes even pried an acknowledgement from the cartel spokesman himself Herbstreet. DK is making serious inroads nationally
