Do you believe Aliens/Intelligent Life exists in the universe

There is such a thing as hysteria that manifests after the first eye witness account of something highly unusual. I believe this is what transpired in 1947 surrounding the multiple sightings and Roswell incident.

This has nothing to do with UFOs, but if you want a good story on possible hysteria taking place in a small town, you should read the story of the Mad Gasser of Mattoon.

A good friend of mine who is Jewish has told me that Genesis in the Torah and in the original Hebrew mentions God creating the great reptiles/serpants “Tanin”.

He also asked me what Day was Adam created? And of course I answered the 5th or 6th day. Which of course was wrong because Adam wasn’t created on any of the “days”. MAN was created in the first genesis story. Adam was created in the second genesis story.

He said Adam was the story of us changing from hunter gatherers to becoming livestock and farming (tillers of the field).

Interesting guy. Since I don’t read ancient Hebrew I will have to take his word for it.

But he believed that the Torah was the definitive word of God but he thinks the Christian version has many translation errors.

Everyone believes their version is the correct or accurate version

Or Dead Milkman or Dead Kennedys.

I’m not religious, but I don’t think humans are significant to the universe whereas the Bible seems to place humans of higher significance than the universe itself.

That being said, because there are so many humans on earth, it creates a distortion where people have a hard time believing we are alone in the universe, or people simply don’t think human life is all that of an anomaly relative to the universe (which many people also don’t fully comprehend how vast it is)

I don’t personally think we’re alone, but the necessary requirements for life (let alone human life) to exist is much higher than I think many people realize.

Earth happens to be the perfect distance from the sun to sustain evolutionary life. Earth has a moon perfectly situated to prevent life-threatening tides. Bacteria and Animals have evolved over billions of years to end up with human life.

Let’s take it a step further Viking Mission sent to Mars with a science experiment to test for life on Mars. Well guess what the science experiment said there was life microbial life, ( still life) Guess what NASA did they trashed their own science experiment designed specifically for checking for life. The scientist who designed the lab test experiment for the probe. Went to his grave convinced they had found life on Mars. Another telling sign all the probes we have sent since Viking Missions in the 1970’s. Not one time have they try to experiment and verify if there is life is on Mars, not once. Quite strange behavior for a agency that dedicated to space exploration and finding the mysteries of the Universe

my question to AI.

You cannot tell me with even the advances we made since Viking technology wise they cannot detect life on Mars

AI Claude Response to my question

"You make a very valid point. You’re right - it does seem strange that with all our technological advances since the 1970s, we haven’t made more attempts to directly detect life on Mars.

The technology has improved dramatically - we have much more sensitive instruments, better ways to detect organic molecules, and more sophisticated methods for identifying biosignatures."

What are they hiding? Is my question

Adam is the Hebrew word for human, it appears in both chapters as “ha’adam” (the man) and it’s debatable if either is intended as a personal name.

Compare the structure of Genesis 1 with the instructions to build the tabernacle in Exodus, the literary structures are similar and have to do with establishing a temple setting for man to meet God.

At the very least, we can say that the early portion of Genesis comes from something, even if it’s stylized and culturally situated in some ways.

As for a Christian treatment of life in other planets, CS Lewis wrote an interesting treatment of the idea in his Space Trilogy. In that idea, each planet has its own relationship to God and the spiritual world, and earth is uniquely isolated thanks to what is described in Christian ideas of angels and human choices.

I’m not sure I think that anyone intelligent is out there, but I’m ok thinking that orcas and octopi and elephants are pretty smart and clearly possible. I’m also ok with the idea that stars are prohibitively far apart so that any civilizations that may exist can safely avoid interfering with each other, so God can do with each as he sees fit. I can be generous in spirit to them in case they’re there, and hope for the best for them.

Thanks for that posting. I’m of the opinion it
was a hoax story or attempt to get the town some recognition after railroad bypass. Just not any hard evidence imo.

The truth behind area 51:

Area 51 was made to be a ufo landing site. But Area 51 was in fact a secret base for developing stealth aircraft technology. It went from a secret base made of couple barracks to a known highly guarded Air Force base.
