We aren’t Clemson, Alabama, or Georgia. Not many college teams can just reload especially on defense. Belk just received a promotion to associate head coach last year. He won’t be fired until Dana is. I’m not claiming that this was the best defense since Yeoman or anything.
They did average 38 points a game, pretty good offensive numbers.
Quite the contrary
I would see Belk fired before Dana, but these NFL interviews only add to Doug’s stock despite the season last year
Keep in mind we had some injuries last year that definitely impacted the season
Defense was very small up front, especially Dtackles, not very athletic and slowww!!!
Take away our game and their season average was about 33.
It’s hard recruiting quality guys when there is an entrenched quality starter, I play a lot of NCAA Football 11 and let me tell you everyone wants early playing time. Especially in the era of the transfer portal.
On a side note, those 2010 and 2011 defenses were full of potential All Americans, the trick was we should have been blitzing on literally every down.
YEP !
I guess the coaching world is different from the rest of the world but any time I ever found out that an employee interviewed for another job, I cut him loose
What? Different quality of coaches and different sports.
Seems like a terrible reason to fire someone.
Weird, I had a boss say he expected everyone to look for a better job after two years.
The Rooney Rule had good intent but ended up being just window dressing.
I hope Belk gets one more year. Good or bad, I think 2023 will be his last at UH.
I too have mixed feelings. I’m torn between wanting him fired and wanting him deported.
4th and 20 sealed it for me. Oh or it could have been a few of those 70 yard drives in less than 2 minutes.
He’s super young. One great year, followed by one subpar. He definitely got exposed a few times. Hope he learns
Right on cue. “4th and 20 sealed it for me”.
Knew it was coming. Only a matter of when.
The GM for the Chargers must have hit his head
