Have been on Mizoo campus and it is larger than UH but not massively so and not all that… it is also in central Missouri which is not very exciting for an adult non-farmer.
I drove around campus on Thursday, as well, and down Cullen. It looks so much better than before, but still some work. The new traffic lights not working stood out to me. I remember driving down Cullen prior to our first game a year ago and wondering if it was going to be finished by the 2023 opener. LOL.
I exited Scott and drove in that way. There are brand new townhomes being built on Scott. That’s what we need. More new construction around campus and maybe some a grocery store or two.
I think they just kind of save money in the summer. Serves me right, going out in the summertime. They must have been cleaning the fountain. But the place was super quiet. We didn’t see a single person around in front of Ezekiel C. The library was open and we had to sign in. There were maybe five people in there. UC was open with a good sized group. About half the buildings were locked tight. The business school was open and that place was right and tight. Very professional and career-oriented from the looks of it.
Interesting, I met a biology prof coming out of his office. I was there showing my daughter where I took my mandatory sciences (Geol and HGeol) He was very friendly and spent time selling the university to my daughter. He said he’d been at UH more than 30 years. We walked over to the Satellite area and he was talking about what it would look like. I told him I stayed away from the science classrooms back in the day. The classes were too hard. He laughed and said, “you must not have taken mine.”
I was working abroad in the 90’s so I didn’t see campus for more than a decade. Even in the early 2000’s I didn’t recognize the place. Can someone tell me what year they tore down the Subway across from the Robertson parking?
With me semi retired now, I will be using my season tickets for the first time. I have not been on campus since 1985. Bringing my daughter with me and staying at University of Houston Hilton. Really looking forward to first time back with UNLV game. I live in Flagstaff so my last game to see was Bowl game in Vegas against San Diego State.
I’m thinking (which is super rare) that since she obviously preferred the “better” things of life, I would have recommended our “other” UH campus–the one located in Hawaii. Wait!–do they have palmetto bugs or roaches there?
