scrimmage thoughts

  • we have 2 years of proven tape of shead being an elite pg,so his minutes and position arent at risk… but if everyone was given a clean slate, like everyone was a new player Mylik might be the starting over shead. just based on the scrimmages so far mylik has out performed shead ( they havent even been close)

  • jwan still doesnt shoot. he played exactly like he did last year (maybe no francis played into that)… im almost at a point where id rather see tugler and francis out there if he isnt going to shoot (with their length)

  • tugler looks great, but in a undersized 5 kinda way, i cant wait till we add a shot to him and can properly use him at the 4… but he was really impressive

  • Sharp/Terrance, missed a ton but showed insane levels of confidence …i love it keep shooting especially in exhibitions

  • i mean this in the nicest way possible,. why didnt ramon enter the portal, it makes no sense .and anyone notice he doesn’t even hustle like he used too…

  • i wish LJ would be more aggressive in taking on guys in iso …this team is set up to yours, grab it by the horns

  • teams with size are going to eat us up…i dont think there is a way to avoid that

  • was really happy with the D for an august game

Coach may have to set more screens for him to get him more open looks. He’s only 6’1 and not super duper athletic. So much craftiness can get you by on open looks. He has the quick trigger where it would work.

@pesik solid breakdown. Im happy for Mylik. In the scrimmage, he also had high assists, but a few turnovers. Cut down on those TOs, and he’ll be a solid piece off the bench.

Can Shead and Mylik play on the floor together? Both not great shooters. But defensively, 2 of our best

Good summary.

Regarding Shead, I will never forget would he did two years ago which is put the team on his back and will them to the elite 8……he can be that guy if he has to.

With the bigger teams I’m sure coach will spread them out and create mismatches on offense….on the other end expect a lot of 2-3 , trapping where they can with 4 guys crashing the boards….

TA and Tugler will have to be on point against the teams with size….

We played Cougar ball especially that 3rd quarter.
I like the 25 more shot attempts we had
A bunch of steals and just 10 turnovers for us.

Shooting stats are irrelevant for a game like this. Heavy travel, touring and playing with a different ball and FIBA rules.

This is the type of game someone like Wilson might put up some stats because he can just run and out athlete everyone.

I see we have already benched JWAN for Jojo based off a intra squad scrimmage and preseason tuneup.lol

All those other factors aforementioned and throw in JWan is a veteran coming off a strained ankle.
