I think what our Major problem at this point is we are not (going on memory) receiving a full share of our B12 cut . We are limping along to get to that point in 2026. I have not heard EN say anything about that but he is doing the best he can with what he has got.
Also,In his talk he said to all Fans to continue to give suggestions to the AD but constant negative comments hurt recruiting. Let me translate. Kids read what gets posted. Let’s not cut off our noses to spite our collective faces. We want to get and keep our wonderful recruiting classes.
Go Coogs !
Ryan, you mentioned that your family moved to Houston in the 90’s. Correct me if I am wrong. Here is why I am mentioning it.
UH has been wrongly accused of being a commuter school meaning commuter students do not care about UH. I was a commuter student. That does/did not stop me for supporting U of H.
Now I thought about the following with a slightly different angle.
Consider what makes Houston, the Houston greater Houston area.
TRANSPLANTS
How many are true Houstonians that have lived in the greater Houston area for decades?
Now think about how many UH alums work for massive greater Houston area companies?
What plans do we have in place to go after all of these massive companies that have UH alums or current students?
(Fortune 500 Companies | Houston.org)
Here is a snapshot:
This is a benchmark for our A.D., marketing department to find out who attends our games from these companies. It is also allowing us to be as creative with them as we can.
We have done it already? Just let us know.
I am going to bring this idea to another level.
Each of the companies mentioned gives us an opportunity to create a UH Chapter. This chapter will be responsible to gather “tickets” interests. By doing so we will be able to gauge a real UH interest progress. Which company is doing good and so forth. We have to attack our wraknesses where they are.
You don’t ask. You don’t get.
Always bring sunscreen - never been stopped or asked about it.
I think this has a big impact and where the school has to understand the athletic department still needs support right now. All the improvements and great ideas have to be executed by a strong AD staff but seems they still have high turnover and lose the few good people they’ve had. Kelly Marchbanks for one and I recently got an email about CP rep turnover. Hopefully the B12 full shares help the dept get stabilized.
I don’t remember if it was this thread or another, but many people have mentioned value. I have season tickets for the Cougars and Texans. My seats for the Cougars are WAY better than the Texans. For the Texans, I sit in 112, 3rd row which is in the corner of the end zone right where the Texans come out of the tunnel. For the Coogs, I sit in 128, 13th row, which is the 45 yard line.
Back in the day, the Cougars were priced will below the NFL prices. It was a much better value to go to a UH game than an Oilers or Texans game.
Today, my Texans tickets cost $106 each seat per game plus $40 for parking in the purple lot… My Cougar tickets are $146 per seat per game which includes the mandatory Cougar Pride donation.
This may be an apples/oranges due to seat location, but what do the seats cost in the 100’s to sit in the corner of the end zone?
If we are competing for entertainment dollars with the pros, we need to price ourselves accordingly to attract fans that want to watch football in person, but don’t want to pay NFL prices.
Outstanding and very useful post . Keep up the good work !

Just got around to watching this and I just want to say I found it a lot more insightful and transparent than I expected it to be. Sounds like there are a lot of issues beyond the control of Athletics.
Lower-bowl corner season tickets were $225 per seat for the year, or $37.50 per game.
So the economic value is there for the UH games. Thank you.
Am I the only one that thinks that siren noise after a score is nauseatingly too loud? Why can’t we just pipe in some Coog band celebration music instead?
Based on media availability and insightfullness:
Nunez > Pezman
I think they can influence change more than they have, though. Eddie made an effort to avoid making it seem like he was blame-shifting, and I think the truth is that he’s still learning how to navigate these barriers. This is the kind of stuff that gets lost every time there’s a transition.
Ryan asked a great question about how we could avoid starting over every single time there’s a change in the AD’s office, and Eddie completely whiffed on answering that. This has played a huge role in fan frustration and discontent over the years, and it would be great to hear someone set forth a plan to fix that.
That question is kind of like asking a man that is recently married a lady who has been divorced 10 times, how can he change that.
I suppose you could try to find a mega billionaire who would give UH a ~$10 billion “football attendee” endowment for the expressed purpose of paying each former student who attended UH for 2+ years and who buys season tickets & attends every home FB game each season a $10 thousand annual bonus for doing so.
I don’t see it that way. It’s as simple as developing and formalizing a comprehensive plan, including succession planning. If a business was run the way our AD’s office has been, it would never make it.
He wasn’t asking Eddie fix everything that has gone wrong. He was asking him to address how we can avoid starting completely over and making the same mistakes for the 10th time every time there’s a change in the administration. It was a layup question, imo.
I agree with this. I was hoping for a little more on that.
Where are the answers to the questions
He also seemed to gloss over Capital Improvements to the stadium. He shifted the conversation over to traffic and how he “can’t add another lane to Cullen” to get on the freeway faster.
I really wish he would have expanded on the stadium itself more. Talk about why adding some shade/escalators is not on the table other than money issues. For example, Pez explained that he couldn’t switch Fertitta cameras due to having to re-run the arena wiring etc (and money of course).
Was really hoping to hear about this from Eddy. Maybe escalators are out of the question due to liability concerns or potential hurricane damage or whatever the case may be. Again, just wish he would have expanded more on this.
I can’t believe you guys. UH is now having to subsidize our sports programs by $50-$75 million a year (the largest deficit among P4 programs in the U.S.), and you guys have the audacity to ask a new AD what his plan is for spending another $100-$200 million in capital improvements to TDECU stadium? I mean…really?
Someone asked him about $100MM-$200MM in stadium improvements? Didn’t see/hear that, for sure.
I think the cost of putting a shade structure on the north side of the stadium as well as bathrooms and concessions up there for the 2nd/3rd level and an outdoor escalator to take folks up there would most likely be in the range of $100+ million…then there’s the south side upper seating access, concessions & bathrooms and a shade structure on that side as well. Of course, those kind of shade structures would likely necessitate new lighting and other related changes.
There’s a reason UH’s stadium cost ~$125 million while Baylor’s stadium cost ~$250 million. It’s clear that UH doesn’t have the funding to do much more at this point in time…however, FB attendance also could well be our biggest revenue enhancer.
[NOTE: I was told that ATM makes ~$10 million per FB home game.]
