It wasn’t just one guy. It NEVER is. We put 5 guys out there, and we played other guys too. They ALL had a chance to shine, but WE came up short. Putting the loss on one guy is BS. We are better than that.
As bad as those last two minutes were, they only mattered because he had been on our team for the past 238. Without him we don’t get there and we don’t lose the national championship because we never made the final four to begin with.
He was an instrumental part of a run that came as close to a title as this school has ever been. Hopefully he’ll help knock the damned door down next year.
Exactly. Unbelievable.
If he had touched it after passing up the shot it would have been traveling… Sharp couldn’t touch it.
It was just a good closeout by Clayton Jr.
Can’t wait for next year. Sharp will be the leader of another great team under HOF Coach Sampson
I’m more pissed about the 3, or 4, easy buckets Condon got by outhustling us back to their basket after shots on the other end early in the game than the last play…
A travel would have been a better outcome. We’d have still had a nonzero chance to win the game.
It’s Sharp’s team next year if he wants it. True leader.
After he went up I wish he would’ve kicked it wide to J’Wan’s side so he could’ve had a shot to grab it and drive but it is what it is…
Honestly, I don’t think there was a high percentage look available there. Florida just did a good job. It’s just a shame we didn’t get anything off.
He should have just touched the ball. UF still would have had to inbound and we could just foul at that point. Seeing the ball just bounce and bounce was just torture…
Yea I said that earlier, but I’m sure he Didn’t have time to think.
I agree they were beating us down the court.
Better the traveling call or try and hit it off Clayton than let the clock go to zero with no chance.
Emanuel Sharp and the team have nothing to be ashamed of. They made all of us proud.
Attending the game with my son-in-law and two grandsons was a lifetime memory.
Proud to be a Coog
I feel the same. I’m super proud of the entire team and coaching staff. I know it was extremely disappointing, and really painful for some, but I walked out of the Alamodome feeling really proud to be a UH fan. We were one buck away from winning national championship. Despite some of our own miscues, we were right there in the final seconds of the game and led throughout most of it.
For all those complaining about Coach Sampson, I can understand the frustration, but this is just the beginning, not the end. Feel proud that we won the B12 championship, won the regular B12 conference, And played for a national championship. There are 62 other teams in the NCAA tournament that were eliminated, and many more that didn’t even make the tournament. Be proud. Quit looking in the rearview mirror and know the future is bright.
Personally, I can wait to see some of the incoming new talent. I’m excited to see how the staff meshes these young kids with the veteran players. It might not look great in the beginning but I think we make another deep run next year if some of these kids turn out to be as talented as advertised.
I mean…dude is gonna be 70 next season, I’m not sure how much more beginning there can be at this point.
I think he’ll be here for a few more years and then we have young Sampson taking over the program.
Quite a few of their dunks and layups came when Tugler and Francis were saddled with four fouls.
They also took advantage when we went small. Roberts could not do it defensively by himself
Exactly. He is everything right with our program.
