Emanuel Sharp

That’s why I have my name on my posts, I don’t believe in hiding behind a keyboard in anonymity. If you want to post something, especially something controversial, have the integrity to put your name on it.

Regrettably, this is where we are today as a society. There’s a lot of internet warriors out there. My fear is that with gambling more prevalent than ever and with platforms like X it’s only going to get worse. I always felt the collegiate players had a bit of a shield as they played for love of the game. However, with NIL, that has been stripped away. I fear they’re going to receive the kind of verbal and internet abuse that professional athletes receive.

After an emotional game like Monday, I try to resist the urge to post immediately. Unfortunately, the mouth and fingers often react faster than the brain.

No one feels worse about Monday night than Emanuel. He, nor anyone else, should receive the amount of abuse I’m sure he has been receiving.

Thanks Kyle. I’ve never wanted to go onto the cesspool that is on X. I’ll read links that point to it, but never set up an account. You said what I would have.

If anyone finds a way to make this happen, let all of us know! Sharp deserves to know how much the TRUE fans love and appreciate him

I am not on social media primarily because of the bullying and cruelty from people hiding behind anonymity as many of you have pointed out. I haven’t seen any of the commercial social media posts directed to Emanual Sharp but I can imagine they are not kind and supportive.

As a 1985 alumni, I still have pain from the last second loss to NC State, but I think this one hurts more because I was there in person along with my freshman UH daughter that did everything she could to hold back her tears. So, if we are hurting that much, we can only imagine how Sharp feels. People tend to remember the last play, but there were several missed free throws, missed rebounds, missed shots, silly fouls, etc. that negatively impacted the game. In fact, I would say we are not even in the Finals if not for Sharp, but memories fade fast in the social media world. NIL money or not, these are still young men trying their best but unfortunately social media clowns who dwell in the misery of others will be around forever.

I am proud of the accomplishments (both on and off the court) of this team and I will definitely be at the 2025 home opener to cheer as loud as possible in support of Emanual Sharp and the 2025-26 team.
