There is nobody on this team that that is as good as the Big E, Hakeem, Clyde or Otis Birdsong.
But this TEAM very well could be our best ever. I know it is early, yada, yada.
Their level of dominance and depth is truly impressive.

Not only was that ‘83 team hyper-talented (1 NBA all-time top 10 & 1 NBA all-time top 50),
they had some awesome nicknames.
Hakeem “the dream”.
Clyde “the glide”
“Mr. Mean” Larry Micheaux
Even the entire team had the best nick name ever - Phi Slama Jama.

Kinda hard to say because its two different eras. Its kinda like comparing Ralph Sampson vs Victor Wembanyama on who’s the best recruit.
Birdsong’s senior year was the 1976-77 season.
I made my bet in early August for $100. I stand to win $1,200+ if I win.

Message boards are all about complaining.
Some of it was about home games.
Anything else was odd when some national websites gave the OOC props.

We have a good non conference schedule. I wish between North Florida and Mcneese st, we only played one of them and the other could have been against Abilene Christian or La Tech or North Texas and then I would have it classified as very good.
