While I think this playoff plan increases BYU’s likely interest in joining our conference, it probably does the opposite for Boise’s. They have an equal or better shot at the playoffs from where they are, without the hassle of travel or finding a home for their other sports.
To convince them, the payout differential would have to be enormous, or we’d have to show them that they’re going to have difficulty making the playoffs from where they are.
We are already better than the MWC. The only thing the conference gains from adding Boise or SDSU is more eyeballs for TV.
At this point, there is no need to add Boise or anyone else from the G4.
The AAC only wants BYU whenever they decide they are ready.
BYU is the only school that adds value.
Maybe, but you gotta admit UNLV would make good road trips. I know I would have no problem getting my bride to go for a weekend there.
That is not my point Gerald. The cartel/cfp will decide not us which of the G5 conferences will be best. Anything we can do to weaken of these G5 conferences works to the AAC’s advantage.
Completely agree with you. Best road trips ever with New Orleans and Las Vegas on the schedule.
