I wonder how much the parking garages will be. $50? $75?
I’d suggest you line up parking before you arrive. Otherwise, you may be in for a frustrating tour of the downtown area along with everyone else doing the same thing. As of Mon. it was a challenge to find anything under $50 and within a mile of the Alamodome. Look at availability/distance on an app like Spot Hero. Forewarned is forearmed.
Also check Parking.com.
I booked a spot ahead of time, but I half expect that to be a fail, so I’m leaving early enough to go out to a Park and Ride and take the bus in if it’s a cluster.
Family member who lives in SA advised me to park at one of the big shopping malls and Uber from there. So that’s my plan.
He also said that all of the street lots around the stadium are being reserved for all of the event workers. I remember parking in a lot on Commerce for a football game but it won’t be available according to him.
I used Spot Hero!
There is so much crap going on in SA this weekend.
Just fyi, but many of the roads around the dome will be closed. I saw that even the park and ride buses will not be dropping off near the stadium. There will be walking involved regardless of transport mode imo.
Never heard of Spot Hero although it sounds like it’s legit. How do the lots know that you reserved a spot? What if they let lot fill up before you arrive?
I used spot hero for a lot in Austin for a concert downtown. Pretty easy and awesome to use. You enter your license plate on the reservation and they give you detailed instructions on how to enter the lot with directions as well.
It stops letting you reserve spots once lot is full. There wasn’t any attendant when I parked. But if you try to park there without a reservation you will get towed! They did have a security guard hovering around the lot after the concert.
I think getting an Uber back after the game will be a nightmare probably have to wait hours? I’m not sure what to do I know I’m not driving close to downtown San Antonio it’s going to be a disaster lol
Do the park and ride! The round trip cost is only $2! Parking in the lot is free. I did the park and ride in Wichita and it was free and great to get to and from the arena. Indy had to find an offsite parking lot on Friday but Sunday got there early and parked on the street free with no problems!
Sounds like it’s about a mile walk each way from where they drop u off
I would avoid uber. Unless you want to sit there for hours getting cancelled by driver after driver bc they can’t figure out how to get to you.
Rideshare apps have surge pricing too.
Just as far from a parking lot unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for close parking. Also, will probably go tot the Marriott pregame rally on the Riverwalk at 3:30. A little walking is good for your health anyway.
I did the Uber in KC and regretted it due to the surge pricing. Never again. I learned my lesson.
Last time we were in SA for the S16/E8 I sat outside the ATT center for probably 2+ hours battling for an uber, never again.
The problem is the park and ride doesn’t start running until 1pm
And they stop at midnight. That means you can’t party after our victory.
I was able to just now buy a parking garage spot. The spots show to be $35, but that is from 4pm to midnight basically. You will have to change the time to when you want to enter the parking garage. Some will not let you change the time. I changed mine to enter the garage at 10am tomorrow and the price was $50. This is 1.1 miles from the stadium. There is a parking garage with parking for $85 that is .8 miles from the stadium.
