Final Home Game Attendance Numbers

The dynamic I’m talking about would be more that they’ve been going to the Dean Dome since they were in diapers and enrolling at NC State doesn’t undo that. It doesn’t make them a fan, it just doesn’t undo the fandom that already existed.

I have met a couple of basketball fans like that… studied at NC State but rooted for UNC their whole lives so they still root for both…

But most are ABC fans… Anybody But Carolina.

Unfortunately, I know a few UH alums that grew up rooting for UT and still root for them…

As for me… I gave away all my burnt orange & Rice gear when I stepped on campus on Cullen.

Three - Day games in August, September and October. The entire North side is scorching hot. I have not missed a game in several years. I play gold a few times each week and have a really good tan, yet I have returned home sunburned on a couple of occasions, and my SO refuses to stay in her seat for more than a few minutes. IMHO, THIS is a major problem.

Have to chime in. We are a global university. Much like the city of Houston, we have one of, if not the most diverse student bodies in the world.

Yes…of people that were raised in Houston…or immigrated here or are 1st generation Americans.

A truly gifted international student, with zero ties to Houston donesn’t look as the University of Houston as a top 5 University that represents the entirety of the best the United States has to offer.

We do, however, instantly think of Oxford or Cambridge when we think of the best Educational options the UK has to offer, as an example

Are you stating we are on International students radar, in that regard?

You just twisted the definition because the city attracts a lot of the poorer class, from other nations, ones that immigrate here “hoping” for a better economic situation.

A large % of those students from those families don’t even graduate because they come from families who view college as a “gamble” with many of their parents skeptical since education is not a cornerstone of their ethos…which is more of a laborer mindset…not an academic one

Look at our low graduation rates as proof

We need to be 100% honest about the type of student we attract and accept. The University is profiting off of them, regardless, so they don’t care

If we want what p4 s have for overall support, Cullen is right.

We’re almost 50k students , bigger than most sec schools so we can still accept commuters but we need to trend more on traditional students in dorms.

Cullen is right . Our problems would be solved across the brd if we trend that way.

Notice our student attendance has really stepped up bc of Khator’s effects but need more.

I saw this and thought it was an interesting way to sell the upper deck corners.

No…I’m an echo for the President of this University and the one that said we’d win a MINIMUM of 8 games this season.

One of us has to remain optimistic instead of constantly making xyz excuses for everything.

Rock bottom.

Now let’s look at the Cougar Pride numbers. I bet they’re just as pitiful as the prior year.

Not surprised the recently elevated more metro schools are near the bottom.

We have just over 3k cougar pride members.

TV viewership is where the money is at and last look we were middle of the pack.

32K is not great but it is not horrible. I do wish we could put this topic behind us… The Zona and WVU games gave us really bad optics.I attend every game and I was dissappointed by the look and vib of both games. The rest of the season game felt okay albiet our crowd can be a late arriving lot which makes it seem worse. It seems like if we could just bump up a few thousand and get them there on time this will be a non-issue.

To consistently sell enough season tickets to drive ticket sales, that number probably needs to be around 5000, imo. It’s not a 1:1 relationship, but those CP numbers are reflective of interest levels in the program.

CP numbers have been mostly stagnant.

We could sell every seat all season and still be #13.

32k isn’t bad with the 11 am games we had

80 % capacity

However our AD still needs market better

I’d like 35 k average

Better delete this thread. There are too many active participants in this forum who get triggered when the conversation turns to attendance. I guess being #16 out of 16 isn’t as horrible as it could be.

They need to judge by percent of capacity or at least have that category. We’re 80% which isn’t bad.

So 2 categories

Total attendance
And
Percent of capacity
