If it were so meaningless, then why do you respond?
Obviously it MEANS enough to you to provoke a response.
Given that’s it’s illogical to say that it’s meaningless….at least to you anyway…

I can’t believe you changed the title. I bet you’re fun playing board games.
Since some people here tried to be little Mr. Smarty Pants, I didn’t have another option.
Regular season and post season aren’t exactly apples to apples.
Does it surprise you?
We haven’t lost in precisely THIS WAY (at home, in the regular season, while ranked) in about FORTY-FIVE seasons.
PERIOD.
FULL STOP.
People need to stop trying to play little Mr. Smarty Pants.
Pretentious much?
Or more simply just say, oops I was wrong
No, simply trying to get everyone to see the reality.
We haven’t lost in precisely this way in almost a half century.
It is what it is.
I was wrong IF you count the post season.
But the truth is, that ain’t exactly apples to apples.
As I said, we haven’t lost in precisely this way (at home, while ranked, in the regular season) since 1980.
It is what it is.
Because you can’t see it yourself.

You repeated the line the announcers made. They were wrong. You then changed the thread title so that you could appear to be right with an *. Sad.
We would have won v WVU IF we had had score more points vs them…
I’m pretty sure the announcers were not considering the post season, which would make sense given that the regular and post seasons aren’t exactly apples to apples.
Again, we haven’t lost in precisely the same way (at home, while ranked, during the regular season) since 1980.
And that’s the bottom line.
Remember, before 2002, post season stats were not even including in a college player’s career stats.
So there has almost always been a distinction made between the regular and post season.
Apples to oranges.

I think almost everyone here is tired of @uhlaw97 derailing thread after thread with endless debating about minutae. Don’t you get enough lawyering in your day job?!? Give it a rest already!
Please don’t come back with the ’ You don’t have to click on it’ argument because you infect multiple threads with your bs that usually is or becomes unrelated to the OP.
My mom was a high school senior in 1980.
It’s a fact though.
You don’t have to click on anything I post.
And if you do, then you voluntarily assume the risks associated with that decision.
If anyone truly doesn’t like what I have to say, then why do they torture themselves by reading my posts?
Why not put me on ignore and spare yourself the grief?
Because listen. I don’t change my posting style for anyone.
So either accept it, ignore it, or GET OVER it.
Of course, nearly everyone that claims to have put me on ignore ultimately comes back and responds to my posts, proving TWO things:
that they are NOT telling the truth, AND…
in the end, no one can ignore me.
Just before the game started it gave me a bad feeling. Classic let-down game. Players were listening to everybody saying how good they were. They were also coming off a hard-fought win vs. ASU.
A more interesting stat would be to include the number of games we have played at home while ranked since 1980. And personally I would not include CCGs but to each their own.
It would take some time to figure out, but consider the 1989 and 1990 seasons.
Both years, we were ranked in pretty much all games throughout the season.
Guess what?
We won ALL those home games both years, including a rout of UT in ‘89 and a win over aTm in ‘90.
From 1980 until yesterday, we racked up A LOT of consecutive regular season wins at home while ranked.
Sad to see the streak come to an end.
