Free-Throw Discrepancy Lately

Ok. I guess the refs are calling everything against UCF, UC also. What happens when they play ea other.. I’ll move on.

I don’t know, but since they have no chance of winning the AAC right now, there is no need.

Oh ok, just want to make sure the narrative stays on point. In my 50+ yrs of watching or going to Sporting events, I can’t remember ever having a thought in my head, that my Team is doomed bc the refs are out to get them. :flushed:. I’ll continue w free mind when it comes to the refs calling a game to their best & most fair way possible. This Thread should be moved to Satellite section, would fit perfectly over there.
Time to go watch replay for first time.

Some you are no fun. ā€œThe refs suck and we got jobbedā€ is so much more satisfying than ā€œdarn, that other team was just better than us tonight.ā€ Leave that smart person stuff to CKS and the staff. We’re fans.

We had to make plays. They shot FTs. Look at the play-by-play from last 5 minutes of regulation and overtime.

Heck, even on the mad scramble play that led to a Carlton layup we almost got bounced out of bounds in an obvious block that wasn’t called.

I’ve never once saw CKS go irate or have any serious discussion w the Refs today. Hmmm. Never once. Matter of fact , the same w/ WSU Coach, no major issues w refs. But that’s so boring that they may have done a good job today. Btw they are graded every gm n grades come into play on whether they get to call a AACT gms or even ref in MARCHMADNESS, hidges on how they graded out during Reg Season. I’ll keep my mind clear n look frwd to watching on Wed.

Absolutely Phillip, good call on the Edwards baseline play. But to keep that whole
ā€œThey’re out to get the Coogs onlyā€ā€¦ geez oh weez.
Only few on here 2-3 that more times than not if i see them post, its going to be something about the Refs. And NO Mike is def not one of them, i just disagree w his thoughts tonight on what’s being discussed. Nothing personal, just diff of opinions.

And the point? The only questinable call imo that could have or should have gone the Coogs way was the block on Walker. I thought his feet were positioned n could/should have been called a charge. All the others, it wasn’t by accident that they were attacking towards the basket against our Guards. Ok, enough for me. I’m good.

Last comment is we had 74 shot attempts and only 12 FT attempts. They had 56 shots and 26 FT attempts. We got to the line at a 16% clip per shot. They got to the line at a 46% clip. That’s absurd especially since a higher percentage of their shots were from 3.

They got a call on nearly every drive at the end of the game yet when we went inside we got virtually nothing.

Without the FT discrepancy this is a 14-20 point win.

Were you ok w/ the 2 obvious travels on Carlton late in the game. Wheww , glad they forgot to get the Coogs on those 2 plays n somehow they called a foul on WSU on JC lay-up late in 2nd OT.

You talking to me Sir!

I’m not the one going n digging up all the Stats to try make a point. I watch the gm w my own eyes. Why can only 1 side make their point. Again CKS had no issues w how game was called. And No DUDE here.

Yes you. Some of y’all like to argue with everyone on here and it gets old real freaking quick. I’m convinced some people here would argue with a brick wall

Edit: that’s all I’ve got to say and I ain’t going to be responding to anyone that reply’s you this

If i strongly don’t agree w someone’s post, I do my best to point out why i disagree. Nothing personal at all. Where you jump in w the Dude reference.

I am not like @Jesse22 . I hate refs with a passion and I do feel sometimes the teams I cheer for get hosed by the refs and the refs have cost some teams a few games. However I will agree that the officiating today wasn’t that bad. My main gripes would be sometimes Carlton got bumped and there was no call, I think some of the fouls called when WSU drive the paint were unwarranted, the blocking foul called on Walker

Yeah, because they shot way more free throws than us despite the fact that they committed more fouls than us or just as many as us. When you see your players getting called for merely standing with their hands up in the air while the opposing players are shooting, but at the same time the refs call nothing against the opposing players when they banged into our point guard while they are dribbling the ball or our shooters getting smacked on the wrist while they are shooting, you can’t help but feel the refs aren’t calling the game in a fair and honest way.

Why are we regularly getting called for just about everything, but the opposing teams are getting away with fouling us on such a regular basis? I can’t help but feel being slighted by those refs, my eyes can’t undo what they saw and my heart can’t help but feel my team is getting shortchanged by the refs. Sorry, I’m human.

Shead gets hand checked and bumped all the time with few if any fouls called !

I will freely admit i b*tch about officiating and its probably unwarranted most of the time. But you have to realize im looking throuch coogfan glasses.
Ive been kicked out of little league baseball games before, i know im batshit crazy when i watch sports. My son says i would argue balls and strikes at a teeball game.

As far as fouling I think its part of our scheme. We’re a tough defensive team that’s depleted. I think we try to play tough man on man late and we’re doing it tired.

As far as not getting as many FT shots I think its because our perimeter passing is some of the best in the country. Since everyone has the green light we usually have a shooter wide open.

Its not like when we had Rob putting in 24 a game and going to the line 12 times.

Also maybe due to Shead not being an iso driver. When he does drive he usually dishes or shoots a floater.

Just some ideas.
