Fritz is going with smith at qb again

It wouldn’t work at a place like Tulane, no chance.

As painful as it may be, I am judging progress by the team and positions at the end of the season. Ridiculous to judge the team on one game, as ugly as it was. The offense knows it was a subpar performance so let’s see if they take it to heart and show their potential.

Even here, no way we can acquire a 2 deep roster of above average O-Lineman to run that style ‘play in and play out’.

On the Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Ohio State types can do acquire that type of depth.

Our best hope is landing 2-3 above average O-Lineman and playing to their strength on select plays

Alright coach

I wouldn’t work in a place like New Orleans…period. My dress shirts won’t fit over the ballistic vest.

We can believe in him all we want, but he looks like he doesn’t believe in himself.

I never thought of Fritz’s O as a ground and pound.
He did seem to execute his zone blocking scheme really well against the Coogs the last few times we played them.
His pass game typically relies more on tight end play which works out well if you have an above average QB who can hit a target.
It keeps the LBs back a little. If you QB can’t hit a receiver then it’s over because they just load up the line.

S Brown had 3 catches for 19 yards in Miami’s blowout of Florida.

Fritz has always used a balanced offense which includes a good running game to compliment the passing game. A 50-50 balance is not a ground and pound offense.

It is in college

Looked very clear to me last Saturday that Donovan needed the spring to absorb the new system. Alas, he was hurt. I am confident that the staff will adjust the play calling to help him get rid of the ball quickly and (hopefully) find some rhythm.

I’m expecting to see some changes in the depth chart in the next 2-3 weeks including at QB.

From what I can tell, only two LB starters have changed thus far.

We’ll see.

Doug Meacham is inside WR coach at TCU. His fall from grace was going to KU as OC in 2017 and being fired just over a year later. Made his way to TCU in 2020 and been there since.

Kendal Briles as OC and CDH is an offensive advisor. Dana is 53 and Kendal is 41 years old. Doug is 59. I remember Doug having a kid graduating from Stillwater HS in 2013 and that’s why Tony Levine couldn’t hire him when he wanted to in 2012. He had to go to his eighth or so pick for OC due to cost (Clarence McKinney) or circumstances. Clarence went to A&M as RB coach and spent the last five seasons at HC at TSU where he went 12-35. Watch Cris Dishman led TSU this weekend at Rice.
