Future Realignment Thread

Yormark is a business man.
What is new this season is TNT getting back into college football.
Yormark has a unique opportunity to “poach” Michigan as well as USC.
Getting both will surely make Notre Dame look at the BIG12 for their preffered partner.
Yes…one can dream.

A future “Perfect” Power THREE.

The best of the ACC and Big 12 merge under this hypo.

The good news is that it’s the first such proposal I’ve seen in which UH gets in.

It almost seems that these stories are based on FB performance in the recent year, instead of long-term prospects… In other words, would the Coogs be mentioned if it was a 4-8 year?

So a P3 of around 48 schools…hmm.

Nope.

An 18 team Big 10.

A 16 team SEC.

And an 18 team ACC/Big 12

52 teams total.

Nice try!

ND presumably remains an independent, for 53 teams.

Perhaps Michigan and USC will go independent in protest against private equity as well.

Lol at this proposal. As though some 23-year-old with pimples has an opinion that matters.

His guess is as good as anyone’s at this point!

So MORE than my 48-50 which you said there are not 48 P2 worthy brands out there.

They want MORE…lol

I believe I said that there weren’t that many P2 worthy brands out there.

Notice how the P2 didn’t add anybody.

But that’s what this proposal is a 3 conference Upper Tier.

Mine was a 48 school 4 division upper tier + 2 independents…or absorb them into the 48.

Right now we have a

P2 + ND

M2

G7

Not sure that hypothetical P3 would get the money the P2 would though.

Might be just as competitive, but probably not as high in value.

Interesting how Kansas, Duke, BC, Syracuse, and Cincy all get kicked to the curb.

Basketball doesn’t drive the train.

The biggest step is going to be the next cfp expansion. We can argue all we want the next cfp expansion is going to “reveal” much more than we think.

My take is the ACC isn’t going away . We may pluck some teams or not but the AAC will survive probably as still p4 behind us.

We have a thread on this but this thread is now directly connected to it.

When you dont announce how much money you got, that means it is low enough to be embarrassing. But both leagues got real good coverage of their games, so if people watch, theyll get more money in the future.

Starting to drip out that (full share) PAC total deal is $6 million +
before production costs.

Add exit fees/ maybe penalties to leave MWC.

Looks like full share Gonzaga the only ones coming out ahead.

Where is the article from a reputable national media outlet that said that?

Fans and media clowns from the west coast do not count.

Think about it. All other conferences have always leaked their revenue payouts. I think the Pac-12 is embarrassed it’s about the same as the MWC and that’s why they are keeping quiet and letting fans over estimate it.
