Thanks for posting that. I was starting to wonder if there was something else going on.
Sounds like we wonât see him again this year:(
Werenât going to see him much for the rest of this season anywayâŠ
Iâm not so sure. He looked pretty good this season in the little time he played. I think he may have given Mercy competition for PT
got around to watching the full presser
looks like sampson identified a problem, but didnt mention a solution
notes jojo as an elite level defender, notes jojo fouls a ton, notes he wont discourage the fouling too much (his aggressiveness is what makes him good)⊠notes there is a very drastic fall off when jojo is not on the floor
later in the interview notes ced is likely never going to be the guy and thats okay, sahko is still not medically cleared
curious what the plan is for non jojo minutes, to maintain a full game of top defense
Maybe⊠Mercy has leveled up along with McCarty and Harwell is just better⊠combine that with Flemings bursting onto the scene & there wasnât going to be many minutes for him that I seeâŠ
I mean sometimes thereâs a problem without an immediate solution. I think this is one of those things where the solution is simply Sakho needs to get healthy.
Thereâs no real magic solution down low, McFarland Ave Sakho donât have magic get 100% healthy and game ready potions in their lockers. And Ced doesnât have a magical get really good, really fast one either.
So you run with what you have, hope Ced continues to give you good minutes spelling Jojo with really good perimeter and on ball d. Same thing if you go smaller with Cenac. Either way you accept you will probably be losing elite defense for some time and hope the d is good enough and the offense is hitting a bit
The solution night just be improved offense. It definitely feels like we wonât be as good defensively as teams of yearsâ past. It sounds weird to say but from the tone of his latest interviews it feels like Sampson is sort of ok with it.
Early in the year I would not have cared because frankly I thought he played like a mopup guy. But as time passed he just kept getting better. Now I think he actually helps this team in a big way and will get even better as a backupâŠ

Sakho will sit tomorrow.
Goal is to have him ready for Cincinnati per Chris Baldwin
Itâs game day!

Jayme previews MTSU:

Only favored by 27.5
Kipp Kissinger, probably the Big 12âs best official, will be the lead ref on the MTSU game. UH is 16-1 in the last 2+ years with him. Tonight is his 50th game in 57 days. He worked the first 30 days straight, has worked in 17 different states, & tonight is his 9th game in Texas.
In one week, he went from Fort Worth to Cincinnati to Houston to Morgantown to Waco to Salt Lake to Cincinnati to Orlando. He took 5 days off for Christmas.
WOW
Thatâs Awesome ![]()
