So what does CKS do with the last 3 games? Don’t see him changing the starting line up but might as well get the bench/youngsters more work, no?

I don’t expect him to do anything different, unless it’s pointed toward winning in March. If anything, I think some of the bench will get less time. The question is which guys are going to sit more.

I think the starters need some rest…except Jojo. His foul trouble gets him plenty of rest. I think Flemings and Sharp have tired legs.

Win Saturday and take the #10 spot in the AP next Monday

I haven’t given up on this team.

But like @monceaux said, just tone down the expectations. Sweet 16 are my expectations right now.

This team barely beat Auburn. (Auburn stinks). Barely beat Syracuse.

Struggled against Utah. they have flaws. Our flaws can be overcome with really smart basketball. Shot selection, defensive rotations, etc

Its up to this team if they wanna play that way. Instead of jacking perimeter shots all game. Gotta get to the paint (guards). Your star :star2: players cant get in foul trouble every game (Sharp, Tugler). Up to them. Go Coogs

Slumps happen. Terrible time to have one for sure, but all is not lost.

This is a once in a decade slump though. Historic.

Also the toughest 3 game run we’ve ever played.

If they can pass out of a Monster and hit 3’s that doesn’t matter.

Sampson is determined to continue to Monster the big regardless of the fact that teams have clearly adjusted to it.

He needs to varry it up. Make it less predictable. Don’t call it on every possession.

We don’t have a Jamal Shead to pull Monster off consistently. No one there patrolling the paint for deflections and interceptions.

I think the issue is less about adjustment and more about execution. This year’s team doesn’t quite have it figured out, so they’re a little slow to spots and don’t anticipate the pass-outs as well.

I don’t expect Sampson to change that up for games that won’t end the season.

Well that’s completely on him. Either he’s gonna pull off a miracle in getting them to understand it, or he needs to figure out something they can do well because what’s in place is not working.

I know i’m gonna get flack for this, but what about mixing in Zone? That could help our defensive rebounding numbers too. There is something these guys can do well. I just know it.

Yeah, they should put in Jacob McFarland for 20 minutes a game. Go ahead and burn Bryce Jackson’s redshirt while we’re at it too.

Big 12 race over, try to win a couple in big 12 tournament and rest up for a final 6 game push in NCAA Tournament

The fact that we haven’t lost three games in a row in 10 years is amazing.

lol I was still a LT in South Korea 2016-2017 (MAJ now)

What I’m trying to say is I need to be grateful for what Sampson has given us and I need to tone down my entitlement.

In fact that’s just an average February for A&M lol

Well, I think your definition of what’s working or not probably isn’t the same as his.

Sampson has talked about losing games all year, and I think he kind of expected to drop at least two of the last three. He’s playing the long game and is willing to take a few losses to set the team up for success in March, so he’s not going to switch defenses to win a game in February.

But what this team needs is not a different scheme - it’s leadership.

If you give any team more than 5 days to scout our offense/defense, we can get exposed real quick once we get to the S16/E8 rounds.

We need to make adjustments on offense because a 3 minute scoring drought will be losses against the better teams.

We need to develop plays that allows us to score in 8 seconds or less.

Our elite defense can be beat by anyone who has decent ball movement.
Our fastest or quickest defenders can’t outrun every pass.

What’s with the sarcasm? You think Uzan will find his groove? I was thinking with extended minutes one of the guys already coming off the bench could settle in as a scoring spark. We need someone to step up as a scoring option besides Kingston and Sharp.

Sharp didn’t do much scoring the past 3 games after the quick start in Ames…

That’s true he’s had a tough stretch but he has had longer stretches of consistent production and can get points at the line (not so much vs KU). I have faith he’ll get it going again. We’ve waited all season for Uzan to get comfortable. Not sure that will happen. Hopefully someone emerges over the next few games.

Let’s see what CKS can do…

Could be worse… we could have Tech’s problems…
