I figured that is the one you like. I get it if you want the mascot to look threatening more so than playful.
But to me, that one (on the left) looks like a disfigured, birth-defected, Python more than a feline.
By comparison…I like a cartoon cat. So if the mascot already has to have a head that is 10 times beyond proportion, it just can’t pull off “menacing” very well using cartoon proportions.
But if we can’t keep the one in the right, maybe we can compromise! 
Plus, the python version is the one that lost a fist-fight to a duck. So the menacing angle kind of took a hit there!
Not trying to belittle anything BYU especially since we have so many good BYU contributors to this board - but I was just talking with my wife last night that I love our current Shasta especially side-by-side with the BYU cougar.
Their cougar gives me Uncanny Valley vibes.
The tech ability to rationalize losing is tops in the B12.
In the postgame show on ESPN2 Friday night, LJ Cryer mentioned that Houston is still upset about how the championship game ended last year. UH lost the title game to Iowa State in a blowout.
Saturday, the 29-4, two-time Big 12 champions, about to receive their third one-seed in a row, get a chance at something they rarely need:

I know I sound like a broken record, but I have not given up on Terrance Arceneaux. He can play good defense and rebound against Arizona and be a major contributor. He could be the X factor. Scoring in double digits would be a major plus. The Coogs will need to be on top of their game against Arizona.
He was barely off on a couple. He can play.
I think Lath only gets big minutes if we have foul trouble or a blowout.
I think there is extra incentive to see Q go out with the Conference Tournament Championship Ring.

Pick your poison. Tech is really good but we should have beaten them twice. But to me they are an athletic BYU and when they get to cooking watch out.
Once again, I would much rather be playing Arizona today because I don’t like Tech blowhard fans. .
Without Roberts we were going to have problems with either.

A few us commented on Sharp in the game thread, related to how much more it seems like he is driving to the hoop and drawing fouls. It does appear that is actually the case.
