Am I the only one who gets annoyed when a city hosts the NCAA tournament and they have an NBA team with an NBA arena but they choose to host it at the NFL stadium?! Why do that?! They are inferior to hosting basketball in practically every way. I also can’t imagine it hold more people in the far end of the stadium

Let’s hope that Illinois knocks off Kentucky today.

They average over 15K per game for basketball, and will bring LEGIONS of fans across the border to Indiana.

GO ILLINI!!!

$551 this morning… monitoring closely… but for that price I’ll probably wait for the Final 4…

That would probably knock the price down some… Go Illini!!!

It is pretty annoying, but it will hold double any basketball arena even if only half used. 17k at pacers arena. 70k at Lucas oil.

Can we hire Arizona fan to body double and cry about playing in Indiana?

Illinois’ campus is located near the Indiana border.

Less than two hours from Indianapolis.

Much closer than Kentucky.

And in basketball, as I said, Illinois has lots of fans that will cross the border en masse.

Last line I saw, the Illini were favored by 2.

BEAT THE SEC!!!

Not like UK, though… Kentucky has fans everywhere…

Edit: yeah… regardless UK or Illinois ticket competition is going to be steep…

But they don’t use that capacity…

Should I buy a championship ticket to the final four now or wait until the last day to purchase.

What will theoretically be cheaper?

I almost bought one early this morning.

Nosebleeds but I love me some Alamodome

You can still request those from UH for $250/each… I might just do that instead of going to Indy… get some crawdads while I’m down, too!

I put in my FF request, but not holding my breath.

I waited at Birmingham two years ago and prices never came down… Bama and Auburn bought them all… I even waited until after tip-off and there were only 2 left and they still went up…

Think I’ll do the same… :crossed_fingers:

Purdue University is only a one hour drive to Indianapolis, so I expect a home crowd advantage for the Boilermakers.

The Indianapolis tournament will be tougher than the Wichita tournament, but I expect the Coogs to beat Purdue, and possibly Illinois, to move on to the Final Four.

What a crock… we get put in a bracket full of teams whose states surround Indiana…

They have four possible regions to choose from.
2nd overall seed gets to choose which region they want to play in. They earned it. They have three possible regions to choose from.
3rd overall seed gets to choose which region they want to play in. They earned it.
They have two possible regions to choose from.
4th overall seed only has one region left to choose from. They earned it.
