I said vs Purdue this wasn’t as big of a deal as Uzan in foul trouble but against Duke it absolutely is. Our 3 bigs only have 15 fouls. We have to get to the under 16 with 0 or 1.
They have much more than Flagg. They have at least three first round picks
I was today years old when I learned Pollard is rich. ![]()
I think we can beat Auburn, second time around.
True but that’s the thing you can’t let everyone get going. You almost want to force Flagg into as much hero ball as much as possible.
You must have not noticed a trend. He’s wore ( sure 20 diff ones) same Grey polo since early February, he aint changing.
Only time he didn’t wear it was when they made him wear Columbia blue shirt-- loss against Tech.
I never wanna hear this guy talk again. Cringe.

I thought of recency bias and then I realized KenPom started analytics in 2002. Lots of great teams prior to that.
As mentioned few days back, we are the only team that can beat Duke. Also mentioned that Duke will spank Alabama. The reason we are the only team is because Duke will have to work lot harder to score points and that coupled with the defense they will have to play will result in an interesting scenario. They are of course favorite but one day one game anything can happen.
The whistle is what I’m worried about……Flagg flops a lot. He will get all the calls, if we limit the “fouls”, play how we did today, I’m confident we can hang or beat Duke
Is there any way we can pack the paint and force Duke to be jump shooters?
Hi everyone – I am a Duke fan but come in peace. I greatly admire your program, Coach Sampson, your players. I was in Dallas last year for the S16 game and saw how much losing Shead meant to the team. And y’all earned my respect for still almost winning that game. I made it a point to watch more Houston basketball this year and have been rooting for this matchup since before the tournament, because I truly think these are the two best teams in a historically good basketball season.
I’m not gonna pretend to know what Coach Sampson and Scheyer are planning for next Saturday, but I look forward to going to battle and believe that whichever team makes it out will win a championship on Monday. Good luck.
Edit to add – If you have any questions about this year’s Duke team I’m happy to answer or provide some background.
You guys have won enough. It’s our turn damn it.
You want nothing to do with that. All the guards and Flagg are really good 3 point shooters. Now if you mean maybe turn them into a bunch of mid range gamers, I don’t hate that idea.
Houston, especially the bigs, needs to stay out of foul trouble. Run the shooters off the 3 line, make them put the basketball on the floor. On offense, penetrate and break down their defense.
Ever wondered why your ‘NBA team’ is NOT is the NBA? (Askin fur a friend)
Listening to the prognosticators, we will give you a battle but your 3 NBA ready guys will be too much for us. I think that is a fair summation. I’m just hoping that our guys take the challenge of dealing with NBA ready guys and show that we can play basketball too. I think we are in a win/win situation. If we lose, we were expected to lose but if it’s close - you werent NBA ready and it proves our team was up to the challenge and if we win well Duke was over-rated and NBA ready guys aren’t all that great. Regardless, hats off to a great athletic program and academic excellence at Duke.
