He can play a little bit of everything and when he’s hot he’s deadly
I assume you mean Rutgers. Davis played against Rutgers and scored 15 in the loss. Also, Burton the PG that was out is their best player this season.
I still think we need to run more, play faster on offense, we aren’t as good as a half court offense without Shead. Fun the floor and get those shots up
OFF. REBOUNDING must improve! We are ranked 69th in the nation, might not sound to bad but past years almost always ranked in top 10. Get that corrected and the offense will be improved!
Saw a lot of Francis and JoJo standing there letting themselves get boxed out. Don’t know if that was due to the foul trouble or not, but that isn’t helping.
In 6 games (150 minutes played) our starting point guard has only gotten to the free throw line two total times for a whopping total of 3 attempted free throws so far this season. You’d think that has to be a typo or something he hasn’t shot a free throw in 4 of our first 6 games.
If there is a problem I’d start there because you can’t have LJ and Sharp hanging out at the 3 point line together all night if the others on the court aren’t getting into/creating issues for the opponent in the paint.
We saw LJ pick Alabama apart with the mid range floater. If those 3 are going to play together they’re going to need to be doing a lot more of that. That’s why Arceneaux was so good for us last night he’s not just sitting in the corner hoping his man falls asleep and he can hit a wide open 3 he’s getting the ball and going right at the defender.
I noticed that as well! If we noticed it, you can be assured that CKS is aware! It is not just this game! It is a trend they need to fix! They know what they are doing & will do all the y can to improve it!
In fairness we’re also shooting a much higher clip which means less offensive rebound opportunities.
This is why raw rebound numbers aren’t a great stat… but rebound percentages are. But in that we are still good but not elite. We are 56th. for clarity I would consider elite top 10%, so top 35
I’m guessing the offense struggled again?
Guys, My earlier post said that in the past, seasons, COOGS have been ranked in the top 10 teams in the country in offensive rebounds and Our currently 69th! I agree that offensive rebounding percentage might be a better way to answer this question. However, the NCAA Men’s basketball team stats does not list offensive rebounding percentage. In the game against Notre Dame we had eight offensive rebounds. It was obvious watching our game versus Notre Dame that there was a lot of “one and done”on missed shots. We need to improve and become more consistent in offensive Rebounding!
We are 60th currently.
I think the biggest culprit to date, is the lack of minutes we have 2 of Jwan/Jojo/Francis in the game and how often they have had to play less aggressively due to foul issues.
We need to make that adjustment because CKS has noted it several times this season!
So 60th offensive rebound % & 69 offensive rebounds per game.that trend is lower than in the past seasons!
I feel like we’ve been giving up way more 2nd chance points so far this year, too…
Rebounding at both ends of the court needs to improve.
Amazing Roberts had one rebound against Alabama.
There was nothing wrong with our defensive rebounding vs ND.
Hopefully as Arceneaux gets healthier he becomes more of a factor on the glass. Last year before his injury he was really starting to look like a + rebounder.
UH needed a couple of days of rest. Cryer looked spent against Notre Dame and Arceneaux and Francis are on a minutes restriction. I expect the team to come out more aggressive against San Diego St.
