Game 7 review

I am kind of disappointed with not seeing all the grey empty seats, I miss that. Maybe we can have the people in those seats wear grey bags :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

Careful. They might move us to ESPN 2 or something and have Beth Cowins do hoops too, lol

By mid-way in the second half you could tell that the Norfolk players were saying, “Wha thu fu is going on here?” I almost felt sorry for them until I looked at their schedule and realized that they’d beaten Virginia-Lynchburg 109-50. When I saw that score I said, “Pour it on Coogs, pour it on. Revenge Virginia-Lychburg.”

We practiced offense for the first time and beat up a team that doesn’t play great defense.
Looks like the key to beating teams with great defense (like Kent State & Villanova last year) maybe to practice offense before those games.

This is the greatest sports team to ever be assembled. Your great grandchildren will talk of this team in hushed tones.

Sampson is literally the greatest leader of men since Alexander the Great. Like Alex from Macville, Sampson will conquer so many college basketball teams that he will weep because there are no more teams to conquer.

Oh and the team figured out how to play against the 2-3 zone. Nice win against a NCAA tournament team.

How did you come up with that BS? First time to “practice offense”?

What I learned from the game?
Ryan Elvin needs to see the court more

What I learned from the presser?
Anyone that thought UH had to get a big from the portal doesn’t know what they’re talking about (paraphrasing Sampson)

Kind of glad Lofton isn’t eating into J’Wan and J’avier’s minutes

Would Virginia-Lynchburg even score 10 on UH

I LOVE what I’m seeing from Ja’Vier. That dude at least touches the ball on every rebounding opportunity and tries to dunk everything. The length of his arms makes him an elite rim protector and he runs the pick and roll so well with Shead.

One thing I noticed near the end of the game was he looked GASSED! He was almost walking up the floor at times. I’m wondering if he’s not in game shape due to lack of minutes, or maybe he got caught by the flu bug last week. Not sure, but he definitely needs to be on the floor more, or at least as much as he can handle.

I believe there was a sound bite of CKS touching on the fact that Francis is gassed relatively quickly and it is because of his minutes. I’m sure that a bug going around doesn’t help any either.

noticed that as well. he was flying around the court back and forth for a few series there and just looked completely gassed afterwards.

dude was an absolute beast out there last night, was fun to watch.

A glorified scrimmage that counts as a W.

Go Coogs!

This is a silly question, but how on earth do you guys watch the post-game conferences? I’ve looked everywhere and never have been able to find it.

Andy usually posts them here, but I listen on the radio on my way home from the game.

One of CKS interview after Kent State :
He mentioned that since offense and turnovers was an issue with Kent State, they will practice for that.

Francis looks like he is trying to take Chaney minutes!

They for sure looked over the flu in this game.

Sampson’s presser hits YouTube within an hour or so after he gives it.

He had Tramon next to him and was very complimentary, saying “his best games are all in front of him”.

Our scoring average is still within range of 80. Could become the highest for any Sampson team.
