I bet that’s one of the things that CKS is trying out here in these early months tbh
The best we looked tonight is when McCarty and mercy were on the floor.
Any word on when, or if, McFarland will return?
I’ve heard talk that mid-December is possible.
How about post up
Cenac some?
I hope Tugler gets all of this out of his system in this tournament
Agree 100%. Right now we don’t have much of an inside game to draw defenders away from the perimeter. Teams will continue to chase us off the line until we show we can score inside. I also think it hurts our offensive rebounding, our 2nd chance points, when Cenac is spending so much time on the perimeter.
Mylik’s sky-high rebounds would have been nice tonight
Sharp with two early fouls is an anomaly and it didn’t help.
They could have just as easily called the 2nd on Kingston for his first. They were both in the mix with equal contact. The refs didn’t have to do that.
Yeah, having him guard the 6’10" dude was a tough assignment.
You can’t sit Sharp down for 15 minutes. You let him play and if he picks up his 3 foul then sit him down.
all fun and games until he gets fouled out before the under 8 timeout on a phantom shooting foul and by sitting him it forces the offense to figure
out without one of the more reliable players on offense lol
Fair question by Chris Baldwin…first question about the scoring drought
Sampson response was the ball didn’t go in. We had good looks
.
Last year, Roberts averaged just over 10.5 pts/gm and was horribly inefficient (.511 TS%) in doing it. Not sure that he would be the missing piece.
He’s definitely dissatisfied with the way the game was officiated on our fries to the basket.
How did Sharp get hurt ??
we don’t exactly need anthony davis or edey level dominance inside and those numbers don’t account for the fact that he was better at setting up our guards for quick reload 3s compared to this years frontcourt so far lol
I would’ve played McCarty in the 2nd half.
Coach not happy with Cenac’s play in the postgame press conference
Alot of winning plays that Mylik Wilson & Ja’vier Francis made off the bench last yr. These newbies weren’t making them…
Harwell missed a box out, led to Tennessee 2pts
Cenac defensively was late on rotations. Tired, maybe? Felt like he was a defensive liability down the stretch
I think Cenac (and the other freshmen) just doesn’t have the rotations down to the point where it’s automatic. He was better today than yesterday, though.
His scoring offense was very mediocre last year (especially down the stretch— shot below 40% the last 6-8 weeks of the season, scored like 9ppg on 10 shots per game), BUT— he averaged 2 dimes a game and was really good at kicking the ball back out on rebounds. The offense just flowed better with him down low. (Not to mention he never missed a defensive rotation.) A lot of what he did on offense didn’t necessarily get reflected in the box score.
