GAME THREAD: #2 Houston (24-3) at #11 Baylor (19-7) 2/24 CBS (W 82-76)

I fear the same. I love Jamal but I hate the dependency. We can’t have this guy playing 40 minutes a game every game. We need our other guards to step up when he’s off the court. Take the lead and ball out. Was hoping LJ could do that more consistently for us.

Me too. When LJ is on, we’ll be unbeatable. He’s just been so streaky.

Are we cheering for Creighton tonight?

I want #1 status. (Yes, AP doesn’t matter tourney wise but I’m being selfish)

Well, I will be!

If nothing else…every win and loss from here on out could affect who gets the #1 seed in the NCAA tourney!

How can you not root against Dan Hurley?!?

Hopefully he gets a hot hand at his old school. I’m sure the fans are going to be nice to him…

We could finish 3-2 and still end up with a 1 seed quite comfortably

If we are talking about number one overall seed then thats a bit of a longshot imo

I’m talking overall. We need for UConn and Purdue to lose more than we do in order for UH to be the #1 overall seed in the tourney.

That’s why I’ll be rooting AGAINST both!

Not huge incentive for overall #1 seed, as long as UConn & Purdue are the candidates. Besides how their split up on the Bracket sides. Neither of those teams will pick Dallas as their Regional site for the Sweet 16 & Elite 8 gms, so UH will still have that choice if they are seeded as 3rd overall Team in Country.

Only the #1 overall seed gets to choose their region. The others go wherever the committee tells them to go.

Hmmm, I’ll have to check on that. I thought all #1 get to choose . Obviously in correct order as the Committee has them. Either way, fortunately the way its set up w current teams UH will definitely be slotted into South Region- Dallas, Purdue- Mid-West- Detroit, East- UConn- Boston, West- Ariz- Ca?

Baylor definitely has a tough run ahead of them. In regards to Uconn I want to see some weaknesses against Creighton

What he said is correct.

ONLY the OVERALL #1 seed gets to pick its region.

That’s why WE should be hoping for UConn and Purdue to lose more than we do.

We have an incentive to want to be the #1 overall seed.

I stand corrected after doing further research. But in this example for this year, the incentive is not as great as maybe as prev year where say Duke & UNC were battling for #1 overall seed. If thgs stand in its current order, then :100: Coogs will be placed in South Region- Dallas ( 2nd weekend), w 1st & 2nd round gms either in Omaha or Memphis. Purdue will be placed in Midwest Region-- Detroit. For sure the Committee tries to reward a #1 Seed to be placed geographically close to Home as possible. If Kansas was #2 & UH was #3 overall that’s when one has to go West etc as #1 Seed.

Just pull for Arizona to get a one as well. That’ll ensure we get the south

Not worried about NCAA seed at all. I’m looking for the reg season B12 title.

NCAA seed and region will take care of itself.
