This is one of those games where being competitive would be a good step forward. The defense will have to play lights out, as usual. Kansas State is a very solid team, and they will take advantage of any mistakes or lapses by their opponent. Let’s hope the Cougars rise to the occasion and give a great effort.
Many here seem think we will get blown out. I
sure hope not.
That being said, if we somehow pull out with the upset, it will hands down be a mark for the program as well as a message to the world that Willie Fritz is serious. It will get major attention.
This season has been up and down, but I think Zeon is getting more comfortable in what will be his 3rd game playing as a starter, and hopefully, his 2nd game where he plays the entire match. Let’s not forget, he got hurt against TCU and only played 2 drives against Kansas.
If Zeon and the OC can establish a gameplan, then I truly believe we can have a chance. We have to stop this run, run, pass scheme that we have been running nonstop.
There is still a route to the championship game for UH (granted, it requires some hiccups with the top 3-4 teams). This season isn’t over. I hope that alone motivates are guys to play as hard as we can at home.
If UH wins against K State, it will be the signature win of Fritz’s short UH career. More importantly, it keeps the momentum going to finish the season after the big win against Utah.
UH is not likely to win the B12, but they do not have to to have a successful season. In fact, if UH wins out, that will exceed most people’s expectation and could set up a great recruiting season.
