Big bailout, and Porter should probably be done too.

I love the call for the bailout, but as a football person I don’t like it at all especially with Porter getting to stick around.

Targeting means automatic first draft. The Porter penalty was dead so it moves back 15 but it’s still first and 10.

BYU’s hit was textbook targeting. I don’t like it (other than this time), but that is the rule. I don’t even think Porter’s head butt can be counted as targeting since it was after the play. He could have been ejected if the refs felt it was bad enough though.

I disagree. That is not the intention of the targeting rule. Plus he had just gotten targeted.

Unpopular opinion but the refs actually called that correctly. Our guy unsportsmanlike conduct for a head butt, their guy targeting for a lunge with the crown of his helmet

It is not that difficult. BYU player launched using the crown of his helmet - targeting 15 TD penalty. After the play, Porter used his face mask to repatriate, in sportsman conduct 15 TD penalty, but the targeting keeps it 1st down.
