So guess Iowa St fans are the northern version of Tech fans. They always come out of the woodworks. Why is there such large alumni base for Iowa St in Houston?

It is mostly an Egineering School (alongside ag) with a larger enrollment than the university of iowa and has a younger student body and more young alumni than the university of iowa. Its not hard to get into, but it is very good for a state school. We have alumni everywhere. We are fringe AAU, just dropped out of it a few years ago.

In particular there is a large DFW alumni association alongside the Houston and Austin ones. All three are for sure in Texas. Add that to the fact that DSM Airport doesnt fly direct to many places, but Houston happens to be one of the few direct flight hubs. I know many people who made the flight. Fan support does not really correlate much with how well the team is doing. ISU would travel in basically the same numbers if we were 0-3

I’ve been to every home game so far this year .Mark my words, we will one day be good. I was in the crowds when the Astros lost with those 100 loss seasons. Gotta come out and support.
