Released earlier this week, TCU tuition costs now exceed those of several Ivy League schools, at $66,520 for the 2026-2027 academic year. At that price, my hunch is that parents sending their kids to TCU for undergrad have different priorities than parents sending their kids to UH. I’d wager that a UH engineering degree is as marketable to employers as a TCU engineering degree.

I know a fella who currently has one daughter at A&M, one daughter at UT, and one daughter at TCU. I can’t imagine the amount of pain his wallet is feeling.
I’ll go further than that. As an R1 research university, I’d say that an Engineering degree from UH is better and more marketable than one from TCU.
TCU isn’t exactly known for STEM excellence. A research university like UH is far more likely to be state of the art in fields such as engineering.
Students attending TCU will, on average, come from far more affluent families than UH. Many girls there may indeed be looking for an “Mrs.” degree.
That said, I knew a few pretty decent Army Officers that got their commissions through TCU ROTC.
More pictures less blah blah

With about 10,000 beds on campus and 40,000+ students, I’d say that approximately 80% of our students are commuting from somewhere. I imagine that pretty much holds for aTm and UT as well.
UH sent me their winter / fall magazine and said the goal is 10k in dorms on campus. Right now , I think we have 8300 then they are building the new freshmen dorm of 1000 so by 2027 , we should be close to the 10k .
The magazine said they per carnigie something association that tags schools as residential or commuter , UH would be considered a residential campus once we hit 10k on campus which is our goal. We then shed the commuter label officially.
It’s fitting bc UH would have more than rice total or Notre dame all on campus. There are a lot of sec schools with only 20k or 30k so 10k would be half or a third of their total student population.
The magazine said UH in the next century will become a residential campus trending that way. It’s why they are improving the campus for the 43 million per the article. We’re moving on from being a commuter campus. We will still have commuters and need them so people can stop worrying about that issue. We have plenty of room for both but we are trending towards being a residential school.
Hope you got the magazine which explains our trend.
We also have about 3k slightly off campus as of now bringing the total to 13k once done which is good.
Something must have happened to where the hot girls dropped off the map when Herman left in 2016.
I don’t know if it was a Greek life issue or lack of social scene but it is what it is.
There would be an abundance at the tailgates and the games, even during the Levine years.
It could also be we have less tailgate room since then bc of all the new facilities jammed into around the stadium. The only visible tailgate areas are all jammed by the main st by the stadium so we see and have less tailgate areas . I do think your right bc when at Robertson until all new construction around the new stadium recently, we had more hotties. Probably they are roaming around but not visible bc the tailgate area has been severely reduced. Lol
They need to figure out a better area for more tailgating as in more concentrated areas near the stadium if possible. Our tailgating is now scattered around but not concentrated like in the past.
I remember the student organization tailgate and Greek tailgates along Cullen during the Robertson years was filled with hotties.
If you were looking for grown hot women, then you would either hit the lot facing Scott just near the pavilions.
I was sober then and still sober now before anyone asks lol.
Less Talk, More Women!!!
The Robertson yrs for tailgating was the best. I think one or so yrs, they rated our tailgating as one of the best. It’s now scattered around campus which is ok but we lost the big concentrated area like Robertson had. All the girls that were there back then are still affiliated with UH but they are either not showing up or are scattered thru out campus somewhere lol
This man understands the assignment

The one by the Coca Cola stand is hot and recent. The one in the white boots by herself
We have them roaming around here and there
You are going to trigger many here with that positive Traditional Campus talk!!

My daughter recently graduated from T. C. U. and it attracts a lot of women because it is one of the highest rated education degree schools in the country. When she graduated it was about 70% women and 30% men. I asked a friend who graduated in the 90’s if the ration then was 70% women to 30% men. He said, “Yes and I graduated neither married, engaged, or even with a girlfriend. I was a real loser.” When he went to medical school he somehow became less of a loser with the women.
