Judging from the reaction of the UH baseball players and fans, the argument that UT is not a rival of UH is blown to smithereens.

It’s probably more to do with we beat the #2 team in the country, these young kids don’t understand the hatred and rivalry between us from years ago

We’re not even close to rivals anymore…
Of course there will always be some level of intra-state rivalry, but our biggest rival nowadays is Tech hands down… and I don’t even think it’s close.

We don’t revel in beating Tech anywhere near as much as we revel and delight in beating UT or aTm.
Unless and until that changes, they remain our biggest rivals.

You have to play your rivals, and we dont play them. We likely will never play either in FB again unless we get matched with them in the playoff. BB same way, they dont want to play us, we need a playoff match like we got with Aggie this year. Tech, Baylor and TCU are our rivals. We still play them all the time in FB and BB.

You can revel all you want…When they wont play you, there is no rivalry anymore…and they wont, not in FB or BB.

USC won’t play ND any more.
It might be premature to say that they aren’t “rivals” on that basis.
Mich once refused to play ND for upwards of 30 years.

Please don’t give a contract extension to CTW based on this one game. If CDH had beat Texas in football we would still be mired in mediocrity and not have CWF. Time to move on in baseballl.
