One of the guards needs to go try and dunk on the big. If Lloyd (can’t remember his last name, he was on the team in the early 1990’s) was in there he would try that. He was a bit crazy, but he had absurd hops.
Wiles?
Jwan Roberts vs SDSU:
41 minutes, 6 fg attempts, 4pt & 12 rebs.
He should be 14pts & 10rebs every game…
Is he hurt?
JR playing like he is afraid of getting hurt. All last year he played with at least one some times with multiple injuries. Was expecting much more from him this year. So far he has been a major disappointment.
Aside from his overall soft play his choked free throw misses were major contributors to two of our three losses this year. However if JR was playing the way he is capable of playing we would have neverbeen in that position to begin with.
Think that’s right, thanks Jesse!
My disappointment is the lack of consistency getting offensive rebounding and J’Wan should be the ring leader. We showed who we could be gut punching SDSTU in the first half. We knew a big team like that would come out motivated the 2nd half and rather than rip their souls we backed off and allowed them to regain their energy with 2nd chances.
The No Conference for Old Men discuss: is UH still a national title contender?
Today in 1983, Houston Post writer Tommy Bonk created Phi Slama Jama:
The Old Men podcast asks, What conference record does UH need to win the Big 12?
About 15 minutes of Kelvin at practice on Sunday:
How good is this season’s defense?
Tonight at 8 p.m., Talkin’ Bout Them Cougars returns. Associate head coach Quannas White (with Galen Robinson) will be one of our guests.
Looking forward to hearing what Q says.
A lot of you don’t watch the Sunday night show - it’s actually pretty entertaining. Here’s a clip of Galen and Quannas shooting the bull:
And here’s the full episode:
Good interviews with AA and Q. I was impressed with AA doing the interview from his UH office at 8:00 PM on a Sunday. It reminded me of the Friday Night Lights episode when Mack Brown did a guest shot as a rabid fan and questioned the coach’s commitment when Brown drove by the coach’s office one night and did not see the office light on. Q’s interaction with Galen entertaining.
Galen did a great job getting the discussion away from the typical coach-speak - really enjoyed that segment.
Really enjoyed the discussion with Q.
Him talking about the teams Galen’s JR + SR yr. The guards they had his JR yr (Rob, Corey, Brooks + Galen)![]()
