Tonight at 8! Mylik Wilson joins Talkin’ Bout Them Cougars!
Nice pull, Ryan. Excited to hear him speak after his monster game. Was hoping he’d be on the podium yesterday.
He absolutely should have been
Mylik interview:
That was a fantastic interview with Mylik.
Thanks for having him on!!
@monceaux wow, good get.
Interesting he’d wanna talk after yesterday’s tough loss.
Some would wanna go in a media bunker til Tuesdays game
Kellen committed to the show before the game. Gave him a chance to postpone or cancel afterward, but he chose to go ahead. He’s stand-up.
Kellen on Talkin About Them Coogs is as much a public service to the mental health of Cougar fans as it is entertainment. Lots of Cougar fans on the ledge and Kellen can talk them off the ledge.
Don’t normally do this, but any questions for Kellen?
1.When a team is shooting that hot from 3pt what types of defensive adjustments do you make?
2.The 20 game Big 12 slate, what are yall doing to help keep this team fresh?
3.Alabama, Auburn, San Diego St, Tech. Close losses. Kansas & UCF close wins. What do yall do to improve on late game execution?
4.When a team has players that can break you down 1 on 1? How difficult is that for your defense? Especially with how tight the refs were calling the game
I’d like to know more about the thought process behind not switching up the defense just to give the other team different looks.
Or maybe they are making adjustments that just aren’t obvious to most of us?
Two things in particular:
The personnel problem we have when our guys get switched at the top with a big on the PG
The open shots we leave when trapping against teams that pass well
How much did Toppin’s exit change what they had game-planned for?
Was there anything they were doing strategically in the first half to outrebound us, or was it purely a matter of them being more aggressive to the ball?
What’s his favorite Star Pizza?
- jojo shooting?-(hopes to expand this season?) spacing issues?
- ramon roles when he returns and when?
- late game offense beyond jwan?
- sharps injury impact on play, and plans to get him back on track?
- biggest area they want to improve on
fluff
- keeping young talent engage despite low pt (mercy and mccarthy)
- insights into how the offense and team night evolve with heavy freshmen next year
Ask him about what happens when his killer defense doesn’t kill.
It is well known amongst Coogfans members that the magic number is 64.
When the opponent scores at or below 64 Cougars win 97% of such games. This season that winning record is 100%.
We have 6 games where the opponent has scored over 64.
We are 2-4. One of the wins was by 1 point and the other in double OT. We could be 0-6 in such games.
How do we change it up when the defense isn’t working as well as it should be?
Any CoogFans.com shirts for sale or coffee mugs?
I’d love to rep the site to grow the community and get more users here!
There’s a big long list of things to look at, but that’s on there. I’m swimming upstream during the season and about to get into spring football stuff, too. Thanks for asking about it.
Ask him if there are any old AAC conference mates that he misses playing if any?
Need to fire up that Time Machine.
