I just found out that Heights/Larry passed away on May 2, 2023. He was a great guy and maybe my all-time favorite Coogfan. He is very much missed.

Oh man that’s a real downer. He had an interesting take on things and
enjoyed hearing his fantasies of Amy Winehouse and other things as well.
Hope his family is doing well.
Yeah, I well remember his fascination with Amy Winehouse! He was one of a kind.

I don’t remember for sure, but I would guess that he was. I remember him being around or at the Coogfans tailgate.

Not sure if he was on any of the tailgate teams but was at a lot of them.

Was he the one that served nutria?
I couldn’t say. I would sometimes attend Coogfans’ tailgates, but I didn’t know the teams or who was on them. I guess I felt like I volunteered enough by writing pieces for the site. Heights just kind of disappeared a number of years ago, I’m thinking at least ten and probably more. The last email I have from him is 2010, but I’m pretty sure he was around for at least a few years after that. I regret not staying in touch.

I remember the nutria posts, not sure it was him.
I remember him from before the site changeover (from Scout, I think), but don’t think he made the move when the site changed.

Pretty sure that was sarcasm but with Heights I couldn’t always tell.
Also remember he was a banker and quite liberal politically.

Hung out with him at games and tailgates lots of times.
I noticed that years ago he had not only stopped posting on Coogfans, but also stopped updating social media, LinkedIn, etc. Perhaps he had been facing health issues longer than any of us realized.

Of course it was, nutria on a stick, I think they hung stuffed animals on their tents as a joke too. Fun times.

There was someone that used the name HeightsCoog back in 2017,
but not sure if that was him. Not the typical flare of the classic Heights
posts…but maybe things were already changing for him back then.
Sure miss reading his takes and postings.

That poster used two different screen names (neither posted much) so I’m pretty sure that wasn’t him. I’d be surprised if Heights would have decided to use a different screen name than his original.
