Though your post and the one you were replying to brought up the part about schools doing what is best for them vs what is best for a conference. I was thinking how the SWC vs SEC ended up. Here in this example is SMU a better rival for UH than WVU - yes I think so, but is SMU better for the conference than WVU is where I think hot.
Same as in some of the comments from B1G reps - doing what is best for the conference and not best for the sport. Kind of many thread comments coming together (but please do not merge all football threads into one giant thread).
I am old and still like the old rivalries, and yes I think SMU adds to any conference as far as being competitive goes.
Also, let me add that we don’t have near as much money as SMU so I think they can buy their way into any conference not named SEC or Big…
I am just happy we are in the conference we are, and I am sure SMU feels the same about the ACC.
But we need SMU in our conference so we will have someone who draws about the same number of fans…lol…
