Astros actually extended their lease through 2050 a couple years back. They’re not going anywhere for a long while. Texans and Rockets both come up in 2032, though, and one of those is already gearing up for a fight.

What are the big deficiencies or problems with Daikin Park at this time that would warrant a demolition and rebuild ? It was opened in 2000, so it’s 26 years old.
Or are you saying it’s just a bluff tactic to get even more favorable financial treatment ?

you do not seriously think the astros, current ballpark up to par or not; will not use a new major pro franchise to use for their benefit.
Just an honest question; I visit the park infrequently, but I enjoy it and don’t see any major defects or lacking of things. Just curious in that regard what the complaints are.
As far as a bluff negotiation tactic, looks like that ship has sailed with the 2050 deal.
There are no complaints of the ballpark. They are planning an entertainment district next door because they plan on staying there.
Okay, thanks; was not aware of that being done. The only thing I find annoying is the parking situation around the park.

seems like a waste as the usa seems determined to embrace its decline and legal drugs are just part of that so it will be legal at some point; but given the long term effects of pot; if whitmire can save some from getting hooked on it; it will have been worth it.

I’ve had the experience in DC watching Ovechkin’s Capitals in their heydey.
That’s one of the main reasons I’m so gung ho about Houston getting an NHL franchise.
