Houston athletic director Hunter Yurachek has signed a new contract that includes a hefty raise.

Yurachek, about to complete his third year as AD, signed a five-year deal that includes a $100,000 bump in salary to $450,000 annually

He hasn’t signed on a local radio pop station as “The Love AD”…so I guess this is ok.

This is a good move. With all the facilities being built and the talks he’s had with other conferences, it’s good to have that continuity. There are still problems that need to be fixed, but at least Hunter tries.

His hires have also been good so far (Wochomurka/Gunter for Swimming have the team looking good and Vesely/Bocanegra for softball/soccer seem to have good pedigrees).

Did Tilman get a good buy out clause?

Got to pay the going rate and think this is an eye toward keeping continuity during our push for conference realignment.

Excellent move. Hunter brings stability to a department that has had its shar of transition. Plus he’s really good at what he does.
