Houston Astros 2023 Season on a daily roll

If he hires that guy as president, he’s not “screwing over” anyone - he’s making a move to improve an organization that needs it. If DB doesn’t like that approach, then he should move on. I’d be surprised to see DB do that, but not shocked.

I don’t have a great deal of confidence in Brown. He looked and sounded lost at the trade deadline. We got JV because Crane wanted him. One good thing about bringing in the northeastern guy. It dilutes any input that Bagwell might have. That guy would tell Bagwell and Mrs Goodbody to get in the station wagon and hit the road.

It does look like Brown did a good job building our infield in the draft.

Brown didn’t make the free agent moves.

He was one for two on his trades.

The draft looks to be pretty solid although it’s extremely early.

But let’s give him a winter and a season without Dusty.

I think he’ll be good.

Astros O took a night off and Framber was left with an undeserved L.

He pitched 7 innings, 4 hits, 3 ER, 10K.

His ERA is 3 + change, which means he pitched within his average output.

We’ve seen relative unknown starting pitchers handcuff the Astros this season.

Additionally, it seems inexplicable that Waldichuk, a reliever with a 5.63 ERA when he took the mound in the 3rd inning, would pitch 6 no-hit innings.

The Astros have this win big/lose ugly tendency that is confounding. With 17 games remaining, I hope they figure it out.

Needless to say, tonights a big game.

We also lost our chance to win 100 games. We had to finish 18-0. LOL

Win the division and there is a great chance the Stros win it all.

Divisional round against a wild card team that has already thrown their best pitchers? Advantage Astros.

For the pennant against the Orioles? Advantage Astros, the Orioles are good but not this year.

WS against the Braves or the Dodgers? Please Dodger but why not the Astros in seven games.

As inconsistent as our offense and pitching have been, it’s hard to project this team winning the whole thing, especially considering our best catcher might but even crack the lineup.

Over short stretches they are the 1927 Yankees.

With a little luck…

Hey there was no way our 2019 team should have lost to Washington…but it did.

Well…looks like Sterns is off the market.

Maldy out at the mound in the 1st.

Not good.

Hope that was a grip slip on that HR.
Kemp would of hit that 1 out.

Dubon at .275. Having a good year.

Good start - nothing gets you going quite like having your “ace” get hammered by the As in the first inning.

The Astros need to break out their big bats.

JV tends to leak at the start, then settles down.

That said, sounds a bit prickly.

No Brantley or Yanier so that JV can have his personal catcher and CF is fu:;in’ stupid.

Especially when you give up three in the top of the first……GD DIVA.

Who had Alvarez bunting for a base hit on their bingo card?

See T5th.

A full time CF/OF probably makes that catch leading to A’s run # 4.

The A’s only give up about 6 runs a game, so we have to do everything possible to try to scratch a couple across against such a dominant pitching staff.

I’m glad I’m not an Astros season ticket holder.

So sad to see this team suck in front of their fans.

The only team in the playoff hunt with a worse home record is the Reds.

This is a team that should be looking at the best record in the AL, based on their road record. I guess it’s good that they have more road games left.
