Houston Astros 2024 Season

Dave Bergman……you don’t remember him?

I think it really depends on the guy and their stuff.

IMO, his secondary stuff is average….he has a great fastball which helps his other pitches play up….which is why when he loses some velocity his effectiveness will decline rapidly.

Again, just my thoughts….could be wrong.

I do

That’s basically what he was before his stint with the astros.

See, I’ve moved on already. :slightly_smiling_face:

And then he was a 2.70 pitcher once we tweaked up his pitch selection. Would’ve been solid for us if we brought him back. Meanwhile the Dodgers are continuing to spend big. Just landed Snell. Sports starting to feel broken. Could use a salary cap.

I enjoy watching the Yankees and Dodgers spend outrageously and then fall on their faces( not counting this years Dodgers).

Also, I did not think there was much chance of the Astros signing Sasaki….but since he is gonna wait for the 2025 International money pool I would love to see the Astros make a play for him.

Don’t know what the author was trying to say really….

Crane will spend on Bregman or someone worthy but he’s not gonna throw a stupid contract at some guy that has had a couple decent years….nor should he.

I love it when they fail but I fear that Dodgers are just getting started. They seem to have the best luck with handing out mega contracts. Most big signings flop but the Dodger signings have pretty much all panned out. Guess they’re eating healthier than the rest of the league.

Don’t worry. Our pitching’s fine.

If Bregman had played at his 2019 level at any point since then I could see him getting what he is asking for but he hasn’t been close so its way too much jack.

It’s all relative, actually. Had Bregman been 2019 Bregman this whole time, 300 million (or more) would be the number.

I am one that usually believes the market never lies. But to put this into context, the remaining members of Pink Floyd recently sold their NIL and Music to Sony for $400 million.

I am a huge fan of how Pink Floyd ran their brand and how they were able to weather some personal troubles to stay friends and protect their achievements.

Either Sony stole from Pink Floyd or MLB free agents are stealing from fans. There’s no way the ratio of a single mlb contract should compare that way with arguably one of the five greatest rock bands in history.

Makes me hate Boras more than ever.

Yeah, I saw it a couple of days ago on ESPN….it wouldn’t be the worst signing….heck, he may hit even more HR’s in our ballpark.

He drives in runs and his OPS isn’t horrible….if we do trade Tucker he would be a good replacement number wise.

I’ve seen him tied to the Blue Jays, Nationals, Mariners and Cubs, too.

He would be an absolute stud if he can cut down on his strikeouts. But at 30 years old, this is probably who he is.

meh…the strikeout numbers aren’t ridiculously high, but they would definitely lead the team.

Winter meetings start on the 8th….Dana better be ready to roll.

I hope he is aggressive and doesn’t sit on his hands.

Bregman needs to sh-t or get off the pot, we can’t wait 3 months waiting for him to decide.
