Can someone explain to me why we didn’t cut ties with Sanchez and are instead pay 6.8M to a guy that can’t hit or field!?
Would love to hear Dana’s explanation on that one……
Seems like he doubled down to save face for trading for him to begin with….in reality he just f—ked the team.
We still don’t have a backup catcher……6.8 buys you a helluva one.
I was wondering the same thing.
I kind of think Dana got duped into thinking he would have some actual trade interest.
Oh, and the other thing that supersedes all other considerations - lefty bat.

It’s his job not to get “duped”….![]()
Dana is a self-duper in the player valuation arena

I like it.
Kaleb Ort off Stros waivers to Yankees.
46 pretty good innings 2025.
Dude sucks.
I hope he makes the Yankees and pitches against us……that flat fastball with no movement.
He’s a career 5 ERA guy….rather have young power arms get the experience from the last and next to last spots in the pen.
Yeah, he was sub replacement player last year and for his career.
Have a look at these numbers….
Could it have been a simple thing like CW just getting comfortable in his surroundings?
I have a good feeling that this is what the Astros get this year out of Walker.
I was one of the bigger Walker proponents when we signed him. I was terribly disappointed in his bat discipline a lot of the year. That said, he has it in his tools to be a great hitter. We just need massive RBI’s from him this year.
Sanchez has trade value and still provides a LH bat they need.
He’s a lefty, but that’s not a bat this team needs.
You are clueless……he has ZERO trade value….he would have been traded….Dana tried to unload him all winter….no takers.
And I don’t care if he bats left, he rarely makes contact and he sucks in the field….Dana screwed the pooch and he knows it.
Zach Cole is better than Sanchez TODAY……and he is basically free by MLB standards.
We may have had money for a backup catcher if not for his FU.
I’m gonna give you guys a name……
Joseph Sullivan
Had a really nice career.
His Mom follows me on Twitter….said pitching for the Astros was the best part of his career….he loved the Astros.
