Paredes agrees to sign. I love that guy. If we could keep a guy during Funk’s Fire Sale" I wouldn’t mind it being him and Altuve and Correa. Just because those guys game every night.

I really don’t want to move him out. The Astros would be better off as a franchise to pay someone to take Walker than they would be to trade Paredes, imo.

Parades is my everyday first baseman and I’m packaging Meyers and Walker for a Super Utility left-handed bat and a prospect.
Currently, Astros are projected to have 8 righties in the lineup (unless Cole is getting some PT from Cam). The chase rates for sweepers low and away on Astros heavy righty lineups were DFL in the league.

Diaz apparently won his arbitration case and will get paid $4.5MM instead of the $3MM the Astros offered.
I think that takes care of all of the arbitration-eligible players.
Now maybe they’ll focus attention on making some intelligent trades.
And DB is talking about the possibility of re-signing Framber. Wut?

I heard Dana says that Framber could possibly be in play….atleast acknowledged that……but if we couldnt pay Caratini 7-8M over a couple of years how are we paying Framber 25-30M for a year or two?

It would move us considerably closer to an ALCS contender. I still don’t think it gets us by the Jays but I think with him back we would be neck-and-neck with the Mariners

i think valdez is nutty but if and coach can get the best out of him, AJ can. should be tigers blue jays again for the AL pennant.
and nutty or not, without valdez; astros missing the playoffs next year. astros had a good run; but looks to be over now; probably time to rebuild unless they are going to spend like the dodgers.
