Houston Astros Baseball & MLB Discussions

This is bullish-T.

They were relaying pitches from 2b to the batter….thats fine, it’s baseball….but don’t go crying when your guy gets plunked.

Framber did nothing wrong and Hinch is a douche for not having his players back, especially given the situation.

I guarantee the guys on his team have no issue with what he did.

3 of the 6 runs McCullers gave up came on wild pitches. :confounded:

Pecko and Ullola should be getting opportunities soon……if not then what are they even doing?

Why is it “knee jerk?” I’ve been advocating burning this to the ground since last year. In my scenario Cam, Matthews, Cole, and Dezenzo are your youth brigade and the core of your next cohort. If you can stack top 100 prospects in AA and AAA behind them you have something to look forward to. About the time the Dodgers (awful farm system too) are in decline the Astros will be ascending. Crane won’t mess with the tax threshold. He has no other way to build a roster IMO.

Couldn’t watch anymore after the 3rd one, and that came after the nail “popped off” and the mound visit

The organization is lacking in leadership. McCullers (old guy) making too much money so let’s put him out there to lose games in embarrassing fashion. A kid in Corpus that we’ve never heard of could go out and do better than that crap you saw today (for the league minimum.) He could bring his weed-smoking buddy from the bullpen in Fayetteville and do better than Alexander.

A once proud franchise. But by all means keep running this trash out there and calling it the major leagues.

I do. “Good luck with your 6 week recovery. See you in the bullpen around the All Star Break.”

Alexander was sent back to Sugar Land as if that’s gonna help.

He got a 5 game suspension for his trouble and did not appeal.

Any truth to the rumor that Framber said through an interpreter that he wasn’t throwing at story but at his catcher’s head?

Joe Espada is in the last year of his contract. He better hurry up.

Would the Astros and Jim Crane consider rehiring Alex Cora?

I think they would but he has a little trash can residue. Who knows.

I think Cora and Omar would be the top two choices.

Just a minor league note on a few of our highly rated prospects.

A couple of games ago Alvarez had a 14 pitch walk….pretty freakin’ impressive for an 18 year old in “A” ball.

Neyens is absolutely going off….he say 20 pitches in three AB’s they day before and earned 3 walks.
And his hit tool has really surprised me.
He does not look like your average 19 year old in his first full season of “A” ball.

Nehomar Ochoa, anyone remember that name?

He was drafted in the 11th round in the 2023 draft out of Galena Park HS.

He battled injuries his first couple of years but now he is healthy and the talent is shining through.

Still just 20 years old he is hitting .293 with an .384 OPS to start the year.

In 84 AB’s he has 4 HR’s, 14 RBI and 14 SB.

Really excited to see these three kids move through the system together.

I’m okay with these updates as long as none of them are playing in Lancaster. Kody Hinze had good numbers too. I just had no idea how much his offense was wind-aided in Central Valley.

Both of our “A” teams are in North Carolina.

The HR’s these kids hit are outrageous.

Neyens had one that was 460+……

Neyens has the FOURTH highest EV in ALL of MiLB.

He is 19 years old….only three guys in all of minor league ball with better EV’s….so better than all of these 25-30 year old guys.

Wrap your head around that.

The Dodgers have a top five farm system in baseball.

The Astros are also 4.5 games back. You don’t tear down a team at this point.
