I watched the replay and as an announcer his job is to be objective. It seemed to me he was calling them as I saw them. Let’s face it, for the first 2.5 quarters, we looked pretty bleak. What is a guy supposed to say positive at 3 empty trips inside the 5 yard line?
Andre was asked what he thought about the helmet and said that they weren’t his favorite. That he prefers a more traditional look. That was it. He didn’t go out of his way to bash them or UH.
I was at the game and didn’t watch a replay. I’m genuinely glad to hear it wasn’t as bad as I feared.
Andre is being honest rather than lying.
I agree with Andre. I like our traditional RED helmet.
The helmets didn’t match the uniforms.
The curtains don’t always have to match the drapes. ![]()
They needed to this time. ![]()
I don’t know why, but your response reminds me of the old joke about the family at the beach, the little boy swims out too far from shore and gets caught in an undertow, starts struggling, the lifeguard immediately goes into action to save the boy, fights the waves and the undertow, rescues the boy and brings him safely to his mother. The lifeguard, thinking his mother will thank him, asks, “Where is his cap?”
Just in one instance, dear assessor of t*rds, the team beat Louisville at Louisville, and loss to Miami by 13 at home.
The other t*rd beat Washington on the road, and just beat Michigan.
You know very little about college football.
Are we acting like this is impressive? Washington and Michigan are a combined 0-4 in B1G play and beat Utah State and Western Michigan* by a combined 3 points. Ignore the logo on the side of the helmet and it becomes obvious they’re smoking hot garbage.
Louisville is sitting at 2-3 and will be lucky to get to a winning record this year. UW and UM sounds like good wins until you actually look at their results. UW is 0-2 in league with no notable wins. They struggled at home against a 1-4 Utah State team. I would submit that Oregon St would beat UW in their building this year. UM is 0-2 in league and does have a win against OU (we’ll see if that’s actually a good win later in the year) but also should have lost to Central Michigan. Also why are we celebrating WF losing to Miami by 13 at home? Game was never in doubt.
But Louisville beat a ranked SMU team! (Pay no attention to that SMU team’s actual results.)
He also said TCU was going to get destroyed by BYU when he was trying to put down UCFs win over them (with the obvious intent to diminish our win over UCF). Obviously that didn’t happen and reality is Sagarin (which isn’t known for being overly friendly to B12 teams) has UCF rated higher than UM, UW, and Louisville.
The only reason I was hyped to go to games when I was living on campus is I’m a 2nd generation Cougar. That was in the Helton years. There was zero promotion back then.
I have sort of the opposite experience. As a first-gen college student, what got me hyped to go to games (during the Levine/Dickey years) was that it felt like UH was the first team I got to choose rather than being assigned to them by virtue of the fact that I grew up in Houston. I like the Coogs because I didn’t inherit them.
This was all based on the premise of how awesome we are. So beating UCF, Oregon State, Georgia State and Southern is so much more impressive, each win not reflective of a good top 25 team now sliding backwards.
Also dedicated to WhoWeTalkinBout and his usual lack of testosterone. Oh Oklahoma…will have to wait and see, gender neutral.
I’ll be fired up to see UCF beat Washington, Michigan, Louisville, Wake Forest, Minnesota on the road.
Glad you have something football related to contribute. Delete for political commentary.
Oregon State is a more impressive win than it gets credit for. They’re not the doormat they were last year. They’re a serious contender for the Pac-12 title. Their loss to us may very well wind up being the thing that keeps them out of the playoff.
Given what we’ve seen this season, I don’t think there’s a ton of reason to think that UCF is much worse than Michigan or Washington or Louisville. For what it’s worth, FPI (with all its warts) has UCF above the Huskies outright. UCF’s Strength of Resume is ahead of Michigan, Louisville, and UW.
Even as someone who thinks Wake is pretty good, and isn’t necessarily bought in on UCF, there’s a really credible argument that the Knights would be the best win on Wake’s or Minnesota’s resume.
