With the Cougars in the Final Four and with the potential to play UCLA in the final, you may want to pick up a copy of Houston Cougars in the 1960s to read about the integration of the UH athletic department by Guy Lewis and Bill Yeoman. Elvin Hayes and Don Chaney making it to campus helped lead to the Game of the Century against UCLA in the Dome on January 20, 1968, which in turn helped lead to March Madness as we know it today.
