I think you’re underestimating how much touch modern linebackers have. A lot of players grew up playing multiple sports, including soccer.
Soccer is way harder than basketball to play.
It was the other way around for me. With basketball, I was great defensively but couldn’t handle the ball. Soccer was easy to handle with the feet.
Team sports, yes, golf and tennis are popular too. Is pickleball a sport or an activity?
I watched some of the USA/Belgium game which is the total Soccer I have watched. I thought Belgium’s athletes were superior to the Americans.

This sucks. 
After Colombia loses there won’t be any teams in the western hemisphere remaining. Especially after this, Messi is done and so is Argentina.
Brazil has been done for 20 years. North, central, and south america have nothing to offer anymore.
