Something has come up and I wont be online tonight.
Plenty of base runners on both sides but no score after 3.
Patrick isn’t missing much if he likes runs. B6 still no score.
big fly at a big time for Big Joe
Coogs up 2-0 B7. Big Joe raises the hammer two run shot T7. Fred V is pitching.
To the T9 we go. Coogs still up 2 nil.
To the B9 same score. Coogs leave bases loaded. Almost made them pay for Int Walk of Big Joe followed by another walk. Knights escape on a called strike full count with 2 outs.
2 outs bottom of the 9th…close to closing it out…and boom, double by UCF. No sweat Coogs.
Huge win - Coogs hopes still alive - a win tomorrow would be close to moving off the bubble and into good shape - not sure what a loss does
Coogs win! 2-0. Fred V 10th save of the year. Around 34 pitches. Big win.
Good day for the bat and ball sports.
A win tomorrow could really boost us securing a spot in a regional! Hopefully the bats wake up and explode!
Must win tomorrow. Difference of finishing 2nd in Conf reg season n mid 30s rpi or possibly sitting at #5 in conf n in low to mid 40s rpi. #GoCoogs
I think tied for 4th is the worst we can do. Still a big difference. If we win today, I think we are almost a lock for a regional.
I looked again this morning and that is correct.
I think UConn is in for sure now after 2 good road wins at Tulane. So right now I see ECU, UConn locks and either UH or UCF getting at-large bid. Going w assumption that ECU wins Tourney.
Edit: Coogs can still finish 5th. ECU, UC, UConn, Tulane can all finish ahead if Coogs lose today. Tulane win today puts them 12-11. They will play one less game than Coogs in Conf
Need that win as we don’t want to be on ECUs side of the bracket.
Here’s that Joe Davis homer. Ended his homerless streak in style:

HOUSTON NOTES
Offense:
• Davis’ home run highlighted a 2-for-3 effort. He also singled and was intentionally walked twice.
• Freshman second baseman Brad Burckel recorded two singles in a 2-for-5 showing.
• Junior shortstop Kobe Hyland and sophomore catcher Kyle Lovelace each went 1-for-4 with a single.
Pitching:
• Junior right-hander Sean Bretz (2-1) picked up his second win of the season. Bretz tossed scoreless frames in the fifth and sixth. He allowed just one hit with two walks and one strikeout.
• Sophomore southpaw Clay Aguilar went four innings in the start. He worked around five hits and three walks while striking out six.
• • Junior Fred Villarreal logged the final three innings of one-hit baseball to record his 10th save. His 10 saves ties Jessie Crain (2002) for eighth all-time at Houston in a single season.
