Just winning games against their upcoming schedule.
It should take care of itself with the stretch of games coming up from Apr 3-May 13 when the Coogs play 19 of 24 games against teams currently 61 or higher. Of those 5 games against non-top 100 opponents, 3 are at Tulane and they’ll probably finish as a top 100 team.
Good news is that we haven’t lost a weekend series yet except for the disastrous MM Classic sweep. With Cumbie and Fletcher, the Coogs should have a good chance of winning every weekend series.
Bad news is that this 8 game streak is coming against some bad teams…but, at least they’re winning these games. Next 4 are against bad teams as well (Rice & Cincy) so hopefully the win streak continues before the schedule gets extremely tough.
Last thing, they really need to solidify someone in that mid-week starter spot. My hope is that Aguilar is the guy as he’s looked real good so far. It frees up Hurdsman and Bond to pitch out of the pen and give this team a deep staff for Rooney to choose from. Be real nice if Villarreal came back as well, but I’m guessing he may not come back.
I lied, one more thing, good to see Bielamowicz do well today. He had a good stretch last year and hopefully, they ride him for awhile. The bats have been slowly getting more consistent as of late…just need to get more runs home.
