Houston vs Texas Tech: 6 p.m. on ESPN

Lol…Utah was a Big 12 bottom feeder last season.

We even beat them!

Vegas spread is -13.5 last time I checked. While it would be great to score 55, I highly doubt that. Style points aren’t Wilies style either.

Oops. Wrong thread. Nm

T swift lanyard is certainly a look

Aye

Lets get this out of the way. Texas Tech’s DL is going to create problems for UH’s OL and Texas Tech’s OL is going to create problems for UH’s DL.

Are you saying they are going to own the trenches?

It’s why they play the games.

Yes. Our coaches are going to have to scheme around the trench mismatches to keep it close. Carlos Allen might be the only advantage across both lines.

I’d say that Magic 8 Ball is spot on… Shouldn’t be optimistic, can’t be really. If you’re rational about it… But, not overtly defeatist either.

I’m interested to see how the Coogs develop after OSU. I think Burnette is a key. I don’t think he played vs OSU.

Lmao

I created a Poll to check the pulse of our fan base. But will post my initial thoughts here…

I predicted a decisive win against the Beavs. I was wrong, but the Coogs still Won.

Next Saturday, I voted (in my own poll) for an uncomfortable loss, because, all else being equal, I can’t see us winning the battle in the trenches.

That said, I’ll be happy to be wrong 2 weeks in a row. Willie never fails to surprise me; in a good way.

Go Coogs!

My expectation for an Uncomfortable Loss next Saturday is NO REFLECTION of my belief in Willie Fritz, or this Houston Cougars Football Team. It is just me being honest about how I feel based upon what I have seen, thus far. But let me be VERY clear… Do I think we can win. Yes. I KNOW we can win. We’re no longer the heavy favorite, on the road, with all the pressure on us to live up to that billing. We’re the underdogs next Saturday., and that’s okay. In fact, I like it. Willie loves it.

I believe Willie when he said he’s building a program. He’s bringing in pieces, and established a culture that creates the trajectory for success, over the long haul… … a PROGRAM. TT has bought themselves a TEAM.

Willie has a disdain for opponents like that, so I believe we are in for some real excitement next Saturday, whatever the outcome…

We’re 4-0. So no complaints here…

Go Coogs!

I do think we are different team at home. (We better be.) Very disappointed in the slow start last night, and for the cliche excuses some people make to explain it. OSU is not a good football team. At all. Still, the Coogs did pass a test in their development with a big come back on the road.

All of that said, Tech is further along in their building process and has a lot more resources invested than the Coogs do. I like our coaching staff, but they will need to do a better job prepping the kids and managing the game than they did against OSU.

The Coogs need to generate turnovers. They didnt get any vs OSU. In his previous games Maalik Murphy threw 1,2,2, and 0 picks respectively. And in his 0 pick game vs Oregon he was 5/18. The fact that he was so “good” against the Coogs when he was so bad against everyone else is a red flag…

The Coogs also need special teams to help the offense in the return game. They’ve got to get field position help from the return team.

Willie says each game is its own season and he’s right. But the team needs to keep developing.
They must have Burnette back at RB. The Coogs can’t beat Tech with two RBs and 1 1/2 WRs and 1 TE… CW is going to need to run… probably 10 times against Tech to keep the defense honest and hopefully open up other plays.

I’m interested to see how the boys do, but not predicting any Ws.

Go Coogs
