How I paid for school without a govt bailout

I wonder why 500k people a year walk thousands of miles, facing cartel thugs to come to this country if it sucks.

For the Bucee’s. That’s why.

Did you vote for trump?

Uncontrolled borders. Our population has increased by 100,000,000 since the 80’s. Our cities can only expand a finite amount.

Ah, we’re to the ā€œblame it on Mexicansā€ phase of the argument.

We have given you multiple examples of how you can graduate with no or manageable student loan debt. You have a lawyer, computer scientist, financial analyst all give you the blueprint to follow. One boomer and 3 genxers.

Well, we could always blame the billionaires for all your troubles.

What actually happened…

The government paid the vast majority of the cost and you worked to pay the small % left over. Well done.

Between blaming Mexicans and poor people and blaming billionaires, I’m blaming billionaires 11 times out of 10.

Who blaming anything on mexicans. I am saying you could learn from them. They come here with just the clothes on thier back and get jobs, start businesses, buy houses and dont whine because they know how good they have it living in this country.

The boomer and Gen X blueprint no longer works. That’s the point.

This is what happens when you don’t proof-read a thought.

Apparently, finite is a very large amount…and we’re doing just fine continuing to expand. Its part of what makes the economy grow.

BS, My Niece got a 4 yr RN degree with no debt all in the last few years

And how exactly did she accomplish that?

Why is their situation my problem?

That doesn’t answer my question.

Here we are. This is what I’ve been looking for you to admit. You just don’t care about others because you got yours. I’d ask you to take a deep long internal look (perhaps with the help of a therapist) and ask yourself if that’s truly who you want to be.

Did you miss this part?

My personal definition of equitable when it comes to higher education is that all public colleges and universities be tuition free. That’s my ideal. I’d settle for a work to tuition ratio somewhere in between 1970 and 1998 though.

Re student debt, I paid $220/year for tuition at a good state university 1969-73. Adjusted for inflation, that would be $1,757/year today. Actual tuition today is $12,900.
